A young girl travels to a new world in search of her missing father, only to find that she's being hunted by an evil sorcerer.

Daria Jones didn't expect she'd have to chase her missing father through a portal into another, magical world she never knew existed. In order to get to that world, she's forced to rely on Alexander Anderson, her childhood friend who she hasn't seen or heard from in three years. But the truth of who she really is could be the greatest enemy of all.

3. Spending time with family and close friends, lounging and chatting, and oftentimes accompanied by a glass of red wine.
4. Books, books, and more books! Oh, did I mention books?
5. Writing…most of the time. When the words don't flow, writing quickly becomes my LEAST favorite thing.
6. Listening to music and dreaming.
7. Going to the gym. Because that usually means I'm doing #6.
8. Hiking in the Sierra's. (But really, hiking anywhere with mountains and pines.)

10. Traveling to new places to experience new people and cultures and FOOD.
11. I know I'm only supposed to name ten, but Skyrim absolutely must be included in this list. So, there. :D

Snippet

A transparent shape floated above the yard. It took me a second to realize that it was a reflection in the glass. There was something behind me. Someone. I turned my head toward its source and my breath caught in my chest. It was Alex.

14 Days of Valentine's Day Book Blitz Event ~ Pierced By Love by Laura Walker

Day 7
14 Days of Romance Valentine's Day Book Blitz Event

Pierced by Love
by Laura Walker

Book Blurb:

Noelle Jensen doesn't have the best history when it comes to relationships. She's already played the part of the jilted bride. And just when she thinks she's safe, her current boyfriend decides to propose. But not to Noelle--to her sister.

Now Noelle has decided it's time to give up on love for good.

That's when Pierce Logan enters the picture. Hard as she tries, Noelle can't help but notice Pierce's deep brown eyes and those looks he gives her. But Pierce has his own reasons to avoid falling in love.

Snippet

"Hey," he said softly. "How are you holding up?"

She turned to him with her brows creased and her jaws clenched. "I'm so tired of everyone asking me that, Pierce."
She bit out the words. "So let me just make it clear once and for all. I'm--just--fine!"

Pierce couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips. She was kind of cute when she was mad. "Yeah, I can see that."
