Awkward.
Author: Lily Kate
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: January 30, 2018

Blurb

Ladies,

I know how things look from the outside. I’m rich. I’m a successful surgeon. I’m handsome. I should have women lining up from here to New Jersey clawing for space in my bed, but there’s one huge catch.

I’m f*cking awkward.

Every time I get a date, I spoil it. Asked if she’s pregnant? Check. Forgot her name? Check. Bought a meat lover’s pizza for my vegan girlfriend? Check, check, check.

This is why my best friend, romance fanatic Allie Jenkins, has declared that she’s swooping in to save the day. She’s prepared a list of required reading straight from The Ripped Bodice, and I’m supposed to take notes, learn from the best, and put that shit into action. After all, practice makes perfect, right?

Wrong.

Review

Allie Jenkins is a down to earth, strong willed, independent woman that isn't afraid to speak her mind. However, for years she's harbored a secret about her best friend... she's in love with him.

Jack Darcy is tall, handsome, smart, kind, and an amazing doctor. Life is great but he's ready to settle down but he's rather awkward when it comes to dating.

Allie vows to help Jack overcome his awkwardness. Jack tries to hide his feelings for Allie. Allie tries to continue hide her feelings for Jack.

But when one night takes a turn neither expected, will they be able to navigate their friendship into something deeper? Or will they push those feelings aside in hopes of maintaining their friendship?

Awkward. is a fun, saucy, heartwarming story that captives the reader right from the start.

Allie and Jack are brilliant in their own ways, but together they are a force to be reckoned with. I love how they know everything about each other, accept their weaknesses while embracing their strengthens. They strive to help each other through the good and the bad.

And when their passion finally ignites, it grows into an inferno that can't be diminished. Even when outside forces threaten to break them, their connection can't be severed.

Awkward. is a story filled with humor, warmth, love, friendship, and hope. The entertaining journey Lily takes us on with Allie and Jack will have the reader laughing, crying, swooning, and smiling.

If you love a friends to lovers romance that had heart and soul, then I highly recommend you pick up Awkward. today and let Dr. Darcy take care of you in every way possible.

Blog Tour & Review ~ Hangry, The Girls #1, by Lily Kate

Today I have the blog tour of Hangry by Lily Kate!

Check it out and grab your copy today!

Hangry
The Girls Series, Book 1
Author: Lily Kate
Genre: Contemporary Romance

About Hangry

han·gry ~ adjective, informal
  1. bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger.
Ladies & Gents,

I sold my soul for a hamburger.

And I have no regrets. When a girl is trapped indefinitely in an elevator with a smoking hot burger and an empty stomach, even the strongest of women will crumble.

The story goes like this: Bradley Hamilton, the most frustrating human alive, offered me half of his hamburger in exchange for a date. I took him up on the offer—while under duress—and now I’m stuck with the consequences. Specifically, the scorching kiss at the end of our date that has me drooling for more.

However, there’s one whopper of a problem. This man has been a thorn in my side for the last twenty years—ever since he moved next door and became my older brother’s best friend. We’ve gone head to head for years, and now, he’s trying to buy out my restaurant in order to plop one of his big fat gyms there instead.

I refuse to let him ruin my business. Unfortunately, Bradley Hamilton is like an order of french fries: you just can’t have one. It appears our lips are addicted to kissing. He’s alarmingly handsome. Deliciously confident. And worst of all? Underneath that salty exterior he’s starting to show signs of sweet.

Brad Hamilton is my guilty pleasure, my cheat meal, my greatest craving.

Which is why he’ll be one habit that’s hard to kick.

Review

Lexi Monroe is a woman with passion, heart, and determination. There is nothing she will stand in her way... unless hangry strikes again.

Bradley Hamilton knows he made a terrible mistake when he pushed Lexi away after his accident. She is the one woman he's wanted and now he doesn't know how to get her back. But as luck would have it, he's given a second chance and he's not about to blow it.

What started out a bet quickly turns into something more. But when outside forces threaten their relationship, will they stand united against the foe? Or will their relationship be over before it even begins?

Hangy is a fun, witty, sassy romance that will have the read glued to each page.

Lexi is the full package... smart, talented, saucy, hilarious, and down to earth. She doesn't need the finer things in life, the small things are what will win her heart. I love everything about her.

Brad is tall, handsome, and sexy. He's also kind, generous, and completely in love with Lexi. The lengths he goes through to make her happy is endearing.

The passion between Lexi and Brad is brilliant. Their give and take is stunning, you can feel their love fly off the pages. Their past only help strength their present and onto their future.

I really, absolutely loved every second of Hangy and didn't want to say bye to Lexi, Brad, and all the other brilliant characters. It's a laugh a minute, sweep you off your feet, no hold barred read that will delight the read from cover to cover.

I highly recommend this sexy rom-com to anyone needing a good laugh with their romance.

“Well, that worked out well.” I give Bradley a smile and wait for the doors to slide open. “That was almost awkward.”

I wait, and I wait a bit longer. I’m trying to be patient, but I’d really intended for that last comment to be a flippant dismissal before I stormed my sequined rear end down the hallway and far away from Bradley Hamilton.

I reach over, press the door-open button.

Tap my toes.

Nothing.

“What did you do?” I whirl to face Bradley. “Why aren’t these doors opening?”

He’s got this odd sort of grimace on his face that’s torn between mild amusement and frustration. “What did I do? I’m not the one lighting up the button panel like a Christmas tree.”

“Why aren’t the doors opening?”

He raises a hand, points to the numbers. “We’re stuck between six and seven, sweetheart.”

I’m stunned. Mostly by his use of the word sweetheart. He’s only called me that once before, and it was just before he almost kissed me. A long time ago.

“Stuck? No, we can’t be stuck.”

“Fine,” he agrees. “We’re not stuck, we’re stalled.”

I glare at the numbers on the elevator. “But I have to be at work like... twenty minutes ago.”

“Tell them you’ll be late.”

“I’m the boss—I can’t be late.”

“The elevator is stuck. There’s not much you can do about it.”

I pull out my phone, glance down reluctantly at the messages to see if there’s a reply from Rick. No reply—and that’s strange. He should be at the diner by now and calling me frantically to see why I haven’t arrived.

That’s when I notice the angry red mark next to the text. A warning exclamation point that tells me the message never sent in the first place, probably thanks to these stupid cement walls blocking out all my service. I should’ve known; I drop calls every time I use the back entrance to our building.

I let out a train of expletives that doesn’t stop until I’ve used every last one in the book.

“It’s fine,” Bradley says, his voice even and cool. “We’ll just call for some help. Five minutes, max.”

“Great. Does your phone have service? Mine doesn’t.”

“Press the call button. That’s what it’s there for.”

“How’d you find out about this elevator, anyway?” I ask as my fingers depress the red button.

“Fred. You?”

“Freaking Fred,” I say. “He told me it was a secret.”

“Fred keeps secrets like a sieve. Especially when a pretty girl is asking for help.”

“A pretty...oh.” I blush at his implication. Then I press the button a hundred more times in rapid succession because I can’t meet his eyes.

“Does it help to press it a million times?” Bradley asks. “Because it looks like it’s not working.”

“It helps with my car and my computer,” I say through gritted teeth. “Do you have any better ideas?”

Review

What do you do when your mother is getting married on a cruise ship and wants you to finally learn how to swim?

If you're Annie Plymouth you suck it up and cave to her demands.

When you've gained a reputation as a "bad boy" and your publicist tells you it's time to clean up your act?

If you're Cohen James you suck it up and do what it takes.

Neither expected the local YMCA to be the place where their whole lives would change.

But when life doesn't go quite as planned, will they stop long enough to think their way out of their relationship? Or will the realize they love each other and want to spend the good and the bad times together?

Birthday Girl is a fun, sexy, romantic love story that will grip you from page one until the fabulous end.

I love how Cohen never give up to get that first date, and after that date he knew he wanted Annie in his life for as long as she'd let him. And despite the fact that Annie has trust issues, Cohen doesn't pressure her move the relationship faster then she's ready for.

Annie is scared, a that is understandable, but she still takes the risk to see where a relationship with Cohen can go. She's smart, witty, sassy, and loyal. She's someone that the reader can relate to and would love to have as a friend.

The more I read from Lily Kate, the more in love I become with her words. Birthday Girl is a brilliant read that I didn't want to put down and slightly cried because I didn't want it to end. I love the passion, the thoughtfulness, the kindness, and the love that was contained between the pages. Cohen James is definitely a hero you want to swoon over and maybe even want to pretend to be drowning so that he can rescue you and give you mouth to mouth.

So if you need a romantic comedy that will have you laughing, crying, and falling in love, then I highly recommend you pick up Birthday Girl.

Exclusive Excerpt

I hate water.

Now, this hate is not a casual dislike of lakes, or even a modest mistrust of the ocean. It’s not even a slight hesitation to go swimming without a life jacket. No, my fear is all consuming. I am utterly, undeniably terrified of large bodies of water.

I’ve managed to get by so far in life without learning the art of the front crawl—it’s always “that time of the month” during pool parties. My gym teacher probably thought I had a chronic case of the flu thanks to my spectacular acting performances to avoid swim class. At home, I generally avoid taking baths because I’m terrified of falling asleep and drowning in my own tub, but showers work just fine.

My mother once tried to enroll me in swim lessons through the local community center, but I cried so hard that my teacher begged my mother to reconsider. Now that I’m twenty-two, she thinks enough time has passed to try again.

I’m as equally unenthusiastic as I was the first time around. The only difference is that this time, I can’t sob my way out of it.

“Dear, you need to face your fears,” my mother says again as I drag my feet into the locker room, dreading whatever the next hour will bring. “It’s for your safety.”

“Yeah, right.”

“What do you mean by that?” she snaps. “It is! I don’t want you to fall overboard after you’ve had one too many margaritas and die, Annie. Not on my wedding cruise. You’re the maid of honor for crying out loud.”

“Right, and it’d be really inconvenient to plan a funeral from your honeymoon.”

“We love you,” she says. “Claude and I care for your safety.”

“Claude calls me Amanda. He doesn’t care about my survival.”

She huffs, but doesn’t reply. She’s run out of arguments, I guess, which is just fine with me since I don’t want to discuss this any longer. I’m angry enough standing here at eight a.m. on a Saturday morning, in the middle of a late February snowstorm, freezing my ass off in a lime-green bathing suit.

Review

When I first read this blurb I thought "Wow this sounds like something I would like" and now that I've read it, I can't get enough of it. I read it from cover to cover  in one sitting and loved every juicy minute of it.

Jocelyn is a woman in a man's world and because of it she's had to appear stand offish. She may have an "Ice Queen" reputation, but she works hard and gives her all to her clients. Now she's after the catch of catches, Landon Boxer.

Landon is a simple man and his number one priority is his adorable daughter. His career is important but it's not his whole world. His agent is retiring and he's fielding calls from every agent trying to sign him, but Jocelyn Jones is one agent that gets under his skin and he can't stay away.

Mixing business and pleasure has never been Jocelyn's thing but Boxer makes her want to break all the rules. And the more time they spend together, them more she wants to be with him and his daughter. Can these two find a way to make their personal relationship work along side their business relationship? Or will they have to choose one over the other? Or worse lose them both?

Boss Girl is a fun, humorous, sexy read that captives the reader and leaves them satisfied and with a smile. I love a strong, independent heroine that isn't afraid to stand up for herself. A hero that knows what's important in life and does whatever it takes to preserve it.

The chemistry between Jocelyn and Boxer is phenomenal and I loved their banter. What I love most about them is their slow burn, they take the time to get to know each other before jumping into bed.

Charli is priceless and really delightful. I loved her sweetness and innocence, she's steals the show.

I enjoyed Boss Girl and highly recommend you pick up this enchanting book.
