Release Blitz & Review ~ Ruthless Mountain Man by Jenika Snow & Kelsey King

I moved to the mountains to get away from everyone and everything. All I want is peace and quiet and it’s worked well for me over the last decade. But then she moves in next door and disrupts my solitude.

Kylie—my new neighbor—with her smartass mouth and destructive dog. It’s obvious she doesn’t belong here with her designer boots and city girl attitude but she’s stubborn and won’t listen to reason. Despite all that, there’s no denying I want her. Her sass and defiance get under my skin and admittingly turn me on. It’s a love/hate relationship in the most inconvenient way possible.

When a snowstorm comes barreling through, it’s Kylie who’s at my doorstep needing heat and food because she’s completely unprepared. Although I warned her, she finally admits I was right. Between my hatred for her dog and her distaste for me, things are bound to get complicated.

Secluded in my cabin together means the temperature rises, the gloves come off—but most of all—the arousal and chemistry moving between us reaches its breaking point.

The wind and snow slam against the windows and front door, sounding like it could break right through the glass. Rosie shivers and whimpers beside me, as Kozmo growls. He’s my protector, even if he doesn’t listen to me worth a shit.

“It’s okay, Kozmo.” I reach out and grab his collar, gently pulling him toward me. He lays down by my feet and I stroke his head, trying not to show that I’m pretty damn terrified of the storm raging outside. It’s not even about the weather per se, but the fact I’m so not prepared for this crap.

The fire crackles, and I turn and look at the hearth, the flames a lot less intense than what they were an hour ago. The firewood stacked up in the corner of the room makes me nervous, seeing as there are only a few logs left. They’d been here when I first moved in, and I hadn’t even thought about replenishing the stock so soon, not when I’d been busy unpacking and cleaning.

I grit my teeth as I think about Luke—Mr. Ruthless—next door and his warning. There’s no way in hell I was going to admit he’s right—that I’m unprepared and out of my element. Fuck him and his arrogant attitude.

I bring the blanket around me a little higher just as the lights start to flicker. Tilting my head back and looking up, I stare at the ceiling and say a silent prayer that the power doesn’t go out. I may have enough food stocked to weather out this bitch of a storm, but that doesn’t mean I can cook any of it without a fire or electricity.

The wind howls outside, and I curse the weatherman and his shitty forecast. “This weekend my ass,” I mutter. And then it’s like Mother Nature says a big “fuck you” as the lights go off. Rosie whimpers even louder, so I lift her into my lap, trying to calm her. She’s not used to this insane weather.

“Shh. It’s okay, girl. It’ll come back on, and everything will be okay. The storm will pass soon.” I know why I’m saying this—trying to reassure myself and feel better about the situation—but it’s grossly clear that I’m not at all prepared for a storm like this. I didn’t check the generator, and my wood stockpile is nonexistent.

The longer I sit here, the lower the flames get, and the colder it becomes. I set Rosie aside and get up to toss the remaining logs in, stoking them and walking over to grab a blanket. I move down in front of the fire to keep warm and call the dogs over.

“Come here,” I call for Kozmo and Rosie. Both of them shuffle over and lay beside me, curling around my body. I glance at the front window, the sheer curtains not hiding the pellets that are assaulting the glass like tiny bullets. I only hope it’s strong enough to withstand it and not break.

Mr. Ruthless was not right. He was not right.

He might be a little right.

An hour later and I’m still in front of the now dwindled fire, the embers the only thing alive in the damn hearth. The electricity shows no signs of coming back to life. The blanket is wrapped tightly around me, but it’s not helping keep the chill out of my bones. And the storm—the fucking storm is still going stronger than ever outside.

No way this is ending anytime soon.

I stand and head to the kitchen. Because I’m trying to stay positive, I check the stove. Nothing. I walk over to the fridge and open it. Nada. Because I have nothing better to do, I try the light switch. Zilch.

“Fuck.”

Dammit. When this storm is done, and the weather isn’t shitty, I’m investing in a crap load of fuel and a gas stove.

I glance at the front door, thinking over my options. No…no way in hell am I going to entertain the idea of asking him for help. Nope. No way in hell.

Another hour passes, and I’m visibly shaking, the cold too much for the pups and me to handle. I have no idea how long the storm is going to rage or when the power will come back. Thinking about my options, I could stay here and freeze to death, my dogs having to survive by eating my frozen body. I snort and shake my head at the ludicrous thought. Perhaps this is where I start going crazy, talking to myself and hallucinating.

Rosie burrows under the blanket farther, pressing against my body for heat. Kozmo is only halfway under the blanket, his head poking out as he stares at the front door, still on guard duty.

The fire has since died, the embers a distant memory.

“Fuck this,” I say and walk over to put my boots and jacket on. “If he wants to start shit or even have an ‘I told you so’ attitude, I’ll give him a piece of my mind,” I say to Rosie and Kozmo as if they can understand me. “Come on, guys. We aren’t staying here and freezing to death.”

Kozmo is by my side a second later, but Rosie takes a little coercing to get out from under the warmth of the blanket. She hobbles over to me, and I scoop her up but walk over and grab the blanket to wrap her up. I have no doubt Kozmo will be fine walking in this weather. He’s a tank on the best of days. Taking a deep breath, I reach for the handle.

I stay like that for a moment, afraid to open the door and no doubt get an onslaught from the weather. “Ready, boy?” I look down at Kozmo. He tips his head back and makes a whiny noise. Exhaling deeply, I pull it open.

Immediately the wind pushes back, the frigid air enough to take my breath away. I duck my head and step outside, Kozmo following right behind me. Once the door is shut, I haul ass down the porch, around the side, and make my way up the hill. The snow is violent as it slams against me, pushing me forward then back again. What pisses me off more than this weather is the fact I have to force myself to go ask him for help.

I slip more times than I want to admit, but I keep going until I’m finally standing at his front door and see his lights. He has power, which doesn’t surprise me when I hear his generator roaring. I know he’s going to rub that shit in my face. I bring my frozen knuckles down on the wood three times and take a small step back.

A moment later the door flies open, and Luke stands in front of me. His plaid flannel is unbuttoned and showing off the white T-shirt beneath that’s stretched across his hard chest. His broad shoulders block out everything behind him but I ignore the smug as hell smile he’s wearing, and instead focus on the heat seeping from the inside of the cabin and washing over me.

He says nothing as he steps aside and allows me and the dogs to enter. I’m biting my tongue fiercely right now, but I swear to everything that is holy, if he says one thing about being right, I’ll unleash the She-Bitch on his ass.

Review

Kylie was excited to start over in the mountains and the fresh air. Just her and her pups, what more could she ask for.

Luke isn't what you'd call a people person., he looks rough around the edges and he's got the personality to match. He liked his last neighbor because she kept to herself, but this new neighbor is proving to be a pain in the butt.

They are like oil and water but a attraction like their can't be denied.

So can they manage to stop the bickering long enough to give into their attraction or will they always be at odds with each other?

Ruthless Mountain Man is fun, sultry read that will leave you with a sexy little book hangover.

I love how Luke helps Kylie even when he doesn't want to. He's got a big heart and it just takes a strong, sassy woman to get him in line.

Kylie is a force of nature that isn't afraid to speak her mind or stand up for herself. She's got moxie and that makes her endearing.

I always love reading anything by Jenika and couldn't wait to pick up Ruthless Mountain Man. So once I got my hands on this read I gave a little cheer and read it cover to cover. I loved the storyline, the rugged yet handsome hero, the sassy and lovable heroine, and the intense passion that leaves you sated yet yearning for more.

So do yourself a favor, pick up Ruthless Mountain Man, grab a glass of wine (or beer if you wish), get comfortable in your favorite reading spot, and then sit back and get to know this mountain man and his lady love.

Release Blitz & Review ~ Snow's Huntsman: A Fairytale Retelling by Mila Crawford and Aria Cole

She was trapped in a gilded cage, trying to break free. And she finally did, but what she didn’t know was she wouldn’t get far.

Snow was mine even if she didn’t know it yet.

She’d run. I’d follow.

And once she was mine I wasn’t letting her go. And once Snow White was back I’d show her where she belonged...with me.

Warning: This might be a modern day twist on a classic fairytale, but the heat is extra hot with this one. If you like a safe read with a HEA and possessive hero staking his claim, this one is for you.

I knew she felt my presence before she even turned around and looked at me. It was in the way her body tightened, her back straightening. The wind whipped by and blew her hair over her shoulder and my fingers itched to touch those strands. I stood a few feet behind her, my body strung tight.

What I wanted to do was lift her up and haul her over my shoulder, spank that sweet little ass of hers and tell her she wasn’t ever going to run away again. Despite the fact maybe she didn’t actually run away--that I knew where she was--I needed her by my side always.

“It’s time to come home, Snow.” It took her a few seconds before she finally stood, her back still toward me as she stared out at the ocean. When she did finally turn around and looked at me I had to curl my hands and keep them at my side so I didn’t reach out and pull her in close.

“Says who?” she asked softly, her defiance turning me on.

She was so small compared to me, vulnerable and innocent against my ruthlessness. But I had to be this way in order to make sure she was safe, in order to make sure nothing happened to her.

“I’m tired of being locked away in a gilded cage, Hunter.” Her voice was low, distant. I took a step toward her, inhaling the sweet scent of vanilla that always seemed to surround her. It mixed with the salt in the air, the ocean breeze. “I’m not going to be kept away because my father's afraid of losing me as well.”

Although I wasn’t surprised that she was tired of the life she led, that her father did have a tight rein on her because of his fears, she needed to know that I wouldn’t let her go on her own. I couldn’t, not for my own sanity and not for the sake of letting her live her life.

I wanted her as mine. I could admit I was obsessed with her, possessive of her. The very thought of seeing her with another man infuriated me. I had waited a long time to make Snow mine, and I wouldn’t deviate from that plan. I’d saved myself for her. She belonged to me and me alone.

I didn’t respond to what she said, just needed her to come with me so her father knew she was safe--so I could keep her that way.

“We can discuss this when we get back to the house and your father knows you’re okay.”

“He knows I’m safe because he knew you’d come after me. And you knew exactly where I’d be.”

I held my hand out to her without responding. She stared at it for long seconds before slipping her much smaller one against my palm. Her skin was warm, her fingers fragile. I curled the digits around hers and pulled her in a little bit closer. Although our bodies didn’t touch I could feel her heat seep into mine.

“He has to understand I’ll leave at some point. I can’t be by his side all the time. I have to live my life.”

I stared into her eyes. “I know.”

Review

Snow has been in love with Hunter for as long as she can remember, and her greatest dream is that he feels the same about her.

Hunter has done everything to keep Snow safe not because she's part of his job but because he's madly in love with her and the time has finally come to let her know.

But when they finally admit their feelings, there's no turning back for either of them.

Snow's Huntsman is a fun, saucy, intensely provocative read that will take your breath away and let you yearning for more.

This is a quick read that will have you glued to each page just to find out what erotic temptation will happen next.

The passion that flows between Snow and Hunter is deeply intense. I love how much they love each other and only each other. I especially love how her father accepts them without question.

Snow's Huntsman is the perfect read to escape into after a long day. It's sexy, bewitching, and everything naughty and I highly recommend it.

Release Blitz & Review ~ One More Night by Jenika Snow

When my sister passed away I adopted her daughter, Dolly, and raised her as my own. We were all we had left in this world and I was going to try my hardest to make sure she never wanted for anything.

That’s why I needed someone I trusted to watch over the most important person in my life. Being a businessman meant I was out of the house a good portion of the day, a necessary evil to provide for Dolly. A live-in nanny would ensure Dolly got the best care possible when I wasn’t with her.

And when I saw Emma for the first time I didn’t just see a caretaker for Dolly. I saw a woman who had every caveman instinct in me rising up like a primal beast. I felt possession and need for Emma the likes of which I’d never experienced before.

I didn’t just want a nanny anymore, I wanted Emma … all of her.

She might think this was just another job, but before our time was up Emma would realize she was mine and I wasn't letting her go.

Warning: Guys, this book is going to give you whiplash for how insta-crazy it is. Talk about a hero who can’t keep his hands off his woman! This may look like a sugary sweet read—and it is—but make no mistake: it’s filthy as hell. We have one alpha hero who instantly falls for the heroine and won’t let her go. Maybe a little obsessive, but hey, that’s what we like.

His other hand pressed against my lower back and I gasped from the searing heat of that lone touch. When he pulled me closer, I groaned, his erection pressed against my belly. We were both frantic with need then, unable to stop what was about to happen.

“This is going to happen,” he said harshly and I could only nod in agreement.

“It’s crazy fast.”

He grunted. “It’s fucking perfect.”

When he broke the kiss to remove my clothes, I didn’t stop him. Once the material was gone our mouths were latched back together. Eyes closed, body lost in feeling, I brought my hands to the front of his slacks and fumbled with the button. I needed him naked, needed him to be pressed up against me in all his hard, powerful maleness.

His erection pressed demandingly against his slacks and all I could think about was what it would feel like to have him inside of me. He kissed me with so much demand I was helpless. Never removing his lips from mine, I was vaguely aware of the sound of his zipper being brought down. And then I felt the scorching-hot length of him press against my belly.
A moan ripped from me.

I had my hands on his shoulders, my nails digging into his body. I needed him impossibly closer. My bra still covered my breasts and I wanted the offending fabric gone. I wanted to feel his skin against mine.

“I need you naked,” I whispered, and pushed his shirt up almost frantically. The air left me when I glanced down at his hard chest. Tattoos covered his golden, muscular flesh.

“I need to have every part of your body on display so I can fucking own it.”

A shiver worked its way over me after he said those deliciously dark words.

I lowered my gaze down to his hard cock and swallowed. He was hung like a fucking monster. Before I could drag my gaze from the sight of his stiff dick, he had his hands pressed right below my ass and was lifting me. He held me for long seconds as he fucked my mouth. And there were no other words to describe exactly what he was doing.

Review

Emma loves kids and being a nanny is everything she wants, if only she could find the right family.

Jacob works hard and knows his daughter needs a more stable home environment.

Jacob needs a nanny and Emma needs a position.

This could be the perfect fit for everyone in more way than one.

One More Night is a hot, sexy, and every delicious.

I love how Emma loves Dolly right from the start. Her ability to love and show compassion is heartwarming.

Jacob may be rough around the edges, but he's got more heart than meets the eye. I love how much he loves Dolly, it makes him seriously swoon worthy.

And when Jacob and Emma finally take that step... talk about intense. A ice cold shower is differently needed after all of Jacob's naughty, dirty, delectable words.

So if you need a quick, sultry, pleasurable read, then I highly recommend you pick up One More Night and let Jacob make you beg for more.

For those times when size does matter. The Dirty Bits from Carina Press: Quick and dirty, just the way we like it.

“Um. I feel we should probably talk about...” My throat grew tighter. “You know.” I averted my gaze as embarrassment flooded me. I took another drink of the firewater. When he didn’t respond I chanced a look at him. He wore a smile but was making himself busy with the first aid kit. Several seconds passed before he finally stopped what he was doing and looked at me.

“Yeah,” he said, his voice sounding deeper, thicker. “I was wondering if that would get brought up.” He was still smirking. Damn him.

I finished off my drink. I watched as he did the same. Maybe he was just as nervous as I was? He took the now empty glass from me and smiled. It was genuine, and not the cocky one he’d been sporting earlier.

For long moments neither of us said anything, but the heat, the electricity and the chemistry were there, like fire licking over our bodies. Surely I wasn’t the only one experiencing it?

“I wanted to say I’m sorry for being on your property and...” I cleared my throat. “And sorry for watching you in a very private moment.” God, I was actually going here with him, and it was humiliating.

“I knew you were there, watching me.” I snapped my head up and stared into his eyes.

“What? You did?” I didn’t know why I felt so shocked right now. I had wondered if he’d done it on purpose. I mean who jerks off in the middle of the woods right after they finish chopping logs?

And I love seeing her walk on the wild side.

This book is approximately 15,000 words

Noah

Being part owner of Ash Lumber made it so technically I didn’t have to do the dirty work. I had employees who worked under me to do that. But just because I co-owned the company with my two brothers didn’t mean I didn’t want to get my hands dirty. Not only did we deal with cutting down the trees for production, over the last few years we’d even dabbled in development and construction. It was just one more branch of the business that was expanding.

I was a lumberjack right down to my very marrow.

I liked chopping wood, slinging it over my shoulder and hauling it to where it needed to go. This was a family owned and run business, and it also helped keep me busy, kept my mind from wandering. And that was the main reason I worked just as hard as the men who worked for my brothers and me.

For nearly my whole life I’d lived in Rockbridge, Colorado, a picturesque lumber town. We had mountains on three sides of us, the town situated so the snowcapped peaks could always be seen. The thick forest was our backyard, and this was the only place I’d ever felt comfortable, ever felt was truly my home.

This was the only place that I ever felt I belonged.

There had been one time in my life that I’d moved away, one time where I’d been out of my element and miserable as fuck. And I’d done it all for a woman…for what I thought was love. I’d agreed to move to the city, to allow Amelia to pursue her dreams, even though skyscrapers and concrete would surround me, would be my coffin.

We only lived in the city for a few months before tragedy struck, but I’d hated every second of it. Traffic had been my alarm clock, and steel and glass had been my view. It was because of my emotions and the hope that things would be better, that I stuck it out, knowing that in order to make things work I had to sacrifice what I wanted for her to be happy.

But even though I wanted her to be happy and successful, maybe it had been my own selfish thoughts, the fact that I hated living in the city so much that I found myself despising everything about it.

And things had started to become tense between us, strained. She was working constantly, and her attitude toward me became cold. In just those few months I’d seen a change take over her, watched as she started putting her career before our relationship. We’d grown detached, and it had felt more like I was with a roommate.

But before we worked anything out, if we even could or would have, I lost Amelia to a drunk driver.

I blamed myself for not trying harder with her, for not making her see we needed to focus on each other. But in just those short months we’d grown apart to the point I don’t know what the future would have looked like for us anyway. Even after all that, though, self-hate and guilt had eaten at me.

So I moved back home, jumped back into the family-owned lumber business, and tried to move on with my life.

Ten years passed, and I hadn’t been with a woman since, had never even wanted to have one by my side or in my bed.

The years had hardened me to a point, had made me despise the kind of emotions that falling in love and being with somebody invoked. Because I knew it didn’t last. It never lasted. People drifted apart, love was lost, and loneliness was the only solid thing you could count on.

I was happy in my current situation, content with working day in and day out. I enjoyed keeping to myself. And that’s how it would stay. Because even if I did find a woman I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, hell, to share my bed with, I feared I’d be no good for her.

Being celibate, focusing on work, on being the loner I’d become, had worked out well for me. I didn’t deny that I jerked off plenty of times, needed some kind of outlet for pent-up arousal, but that’s as far as I went. Women didn’t interest me, and another relationship sure as fuck wasn’t in my future.

Keeping to myself was best for everyone all around. At least that’s what I’d been telling myself this whole time.

Mia

I said goodbye to the life I’d known for far too long, packed up all my belongings, and headed to Rockbridge, Colorado. Although Rockbridge was only a couple hours northwest of Denver, where’d I’d been living and working for the last few years, it felt like a whole other world.

In my previous life, before I’d moved to the city for work, I’d lived in Thornton. It had been an up and coming place to live and had its quaint points. But over the years even those homegrown scenic views had been eaten up by restaurants and supermarkets, doctors’ offices and housing developments. Hell, they’d even built over a gorgeous prairie dog field that had been right behind my housing development.

Dammit, I’d loved those prairie dogs.

And now I was dropped into some postcard town, where evergreens and aspens surrounded me, and the smell of Christmas filled my head.

Mountains surrounded the town, the peaks reaching for the very heavens, and forests touching the edges of the roads. The houses were quaint, cabin-like.

I felt freer, like the weight of the world had been lifted off my shoulders as soon as I arrived in Rockbridge.

I pulled open the sliding glass door to the house I was renting for the time being and stepped out onto the small deck. Evergreens and aspens were my backyard now. I could see the snowcapped mountains peeking over the treetops, and I closed my eyes and inhaled deeply. I’d been so worried about moving, so stressed out about starting a new job and leaving everything else behind, that I hadn’t really been able to appreciate how good this would be for me in the long run.

I brought my mug up and blew a light brush of air over the top, the steam from my tea disappearing into the fresh, clean air. I had been here for a few weeks now, my new position that of an executive accountant for the one small real estate company in town.

Truth was, executive accountant was a term far too fancy and sophisticated for the small business I was working for. I was a glorified number pusher, but the pay was decent—not exactly what I’d made before, but good enough for me to be comfortable. And this small rental property with an acre of land that I’d found had sealed the deal about making this new jump in my life.

So, I’d put in my two weeks at my former position and never looked back.

My energy had been drained living that life. I felt the weight of working for a large corporation and coming home to the same four walls, the same postage stamp–sized yard every day. I knew if I didn’t make a change my health would suffer.

I found myself smiling, and was thankful there were no neighbors around. They’d probably think I was insane, standing here alone, my mug pressed to my lips, a huge grin spread across my face.

I might’ve only been here a few weeks, but I already felt like this was home.
