Q&A With Jessica Lemmon

1. What is your favorite childhood book?

The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein

2. What is the first book that made you cry?

I can’t remember, but there have been a few.

3. What is your writing Kryptonite?

If by Kryptonite you mean what is my ultimate can’t-help-myself-but-write, I’d have to go with scenes involving the heroine’s or hero’s ex. I love when they pop up out of the middle of nowhere and cause problems.

4. Do you hide any secrets in your books that only a few people will find?

Indeed, I do! Usually they are references to past characters for readers to find, but sometimes they’re pop culture jokes. I included a Sons of Anarchy reference in Return of the Bad Boy that fans will totally recognize.

5. What other authors are you friends with, and how do they help you become a better writer?

I’m close with several friends and you can usually find them listed in the acknowledgements of my books. Lauren Layne helps me daily. Seriously, she should charge me by the hour. Jules Bennett and Shannon Richard are fantastic to bounce ideas off of, and I go to Maisey Yates for her take on the publishing industry. Plus, I read their books—reading great writing helps improve your own.

Review

Reese is pushing him to step up in the company, but Eli is working on a project close to his heart.

Isabella Sawyer is building her business and this new account could bring in some big referrals, but he's fired every PA she's sent to him. Therefore she's been forced to take drastic measures to keep his business. If he thinks he's going to run her off, he's got another thing coming... she's as stubborn as they come.

What started as a business arrangement quickly changes as the sexual tension builds. Even though they have sizzling passion, can they learn to move past their issues and embrace their future? Or will they be stuck and unable to move forward?

The Bastard Billionaire is a gripping, entertaining book that is full of hope and heart. Eli may have more issues to over come than Isa, but they both know that they have something special if they just fight for it. I really love how Isa sees the man Eli is inside and not just his physical appearance. Their banter is marvelous and witty. They don't back down from what they want.

The Bastard Billionaire is stunning conclusion to this superb series. It's a book that draws you in and keep you captivated until the end. Jessica's writing is incredible and makes you feel like the characters are a part of your family. I highly recommend anything by Jessica and especially The Billionaire Bad Boy series.

“Why is it you look like you’re thinking something sinister?” he asked, that eyebrow arcing higher. “And don’t lie to me, Dimples. I have a sixth sense.” She watched his slow smile, white teeth appearing as his trimmed beard parted. Her nether regions buzzed like she’d sat on a vibrating phone.

“I’m surprised . . .” she started, feeling daring. Must be the Kona coffee.

“Because?”

“Because I expected you to induct me into the Mile High Club by now. This is my first private flight.” She looked at him through her lashes, her coy smile in place.

Tag wore an all-out grin, which made her inordinately pleased. Where she was concerned, he wasn’t immune. And she liked that. A lot.

“Excuse me.” Smoothly, he shut his laptop, stood, and walked from cabin to cockpit.

Okay. That was interesting. She hadn’t expected him to leave. Maybe she didn’t have the same power over him as he had over her.

She turned to look out the window, but the nighttime landscape was nothing but blackness. She imagined a sea of clouds and blue skies once the sun rose, anticipating being someplace where the high was above freezing. She wondered what the temperature was on—

“Let’s go.” Her hand was snatched a moment later as Tag pulled her out of her seat and led her to the bedroom.

“Wait,” she said through her laughter as she hustled after him. “What are you doing?”

In the bedroom, he released her, closed the door, and whipped off his shirt. She gasped, her eyes eating up his tanned muscles and bulky arms.

“Making you a member.” He caught the back of her head in his hand and kissed her. She melted beneath his touch. She was hopelessly attracted to him. Just an absolute goner.

When she caught a breath of air, she said, “Where did you go?”

“Told the pilot to take the long way.”

“There’s a longer way to Hawaii?”

“There is now.”

Review

Tag Crane has the good life, never really wanted for nothing. His long hair, beard, bulging biceps and charming personality have women falling at his feet hoping to catching the playboy billionaire. However, he's the love 'em and leave 'em kind of guy and just the word wedding will have him running away.

Rachel Foster is starting over, again, after the breakup of her long-term relationship and quitting her job. A chance opportunity has her dog-sitting for one of her regular costumers at the bar she works. This could be the break she needs to earn a little extra money and finally be able to afford a new place to live, leaving with her friends has been nice but she's looking forward to living alone and gaining some independence.

Due to Rachel's late nights, the dog she's sitting has been barking more than normal and drawing the attention of her upstairs neighbor. When he comes a knocking, the two find it hard to stay away from each other. Sexual tension rises until it combusts and feelings start to develop. But can the playboy who never thought he'd settle down, actually settle down with the one woman that enraptures him like no other?

Oh my goodness.... Tag Crane is one delicious specimen of a man. Sure he'd got the good looks and deep pockets, but it's his heart and compassion that tug at your heartstrings. He's sweet and tender, just like a giant teddy bear. But when needed, he'll protect you with every fiber of his body. It's hard not to love the total package.

I loved Rachel's independent nature, not wanting to depend on a guy after having been burned before. The way she stands up for herself is endearing to say the least. And boy does she know how to push Tag's button with her sassy attitude and witty comebacks. Her strong passion and fierce loyalty make her force to be reckon with.

I really loved this book, once I picked it up I couldn't put down. I love the way Jessica tells a story is sensational and invades your imagination, she has become one of my favorite authors to reads. This series feature strong heroes and even stronger heroines and I can't wait to read the next book, The Bastard Billionaire.

“You don’t own me, Asher Knight. You don’t get to be possessive when I’m on a date—”

“Come on!” he interrupted. “You want me to believe you’re pissed that I interrupted your date with Brice McGuire?” He knew her better than that—hell, Gloria knew herself better than that.

“Yes, Asher. A date.” She leaned closer to him, fire in her eyes, her hair wild from the wind. “You don’t get to pull me into your life whenever you need help. I have a life, too.”

“I know that.” But she kept going.

“A life that is not in this house, that is not on this dock.” She pointed at the wooden slats they stood on now. “A life that shouldn’t be happening here, of all places.”

Okay, she’d officially thrown him. “What does my house have to do with anything?”

“How about the fact that I saved every dime I had to buy it?” She pointed at herself, poking red nails into her white dress. “I put down an offer and you outbid me. I was supposed to be living and working here, not playing family with a guy who only wants me sometimes!” She quit speaking when her voice became choked with emotion. He heard it. He saw it.

It took him a few seconds to piece together what she’d said.

“You put an offer on this house?” he asked, pointing at the deck.

She sniffed, crossing her arms and looking past him at the lake. “Yeah.”

“Why the fuck didn’t you tell me? I would have pulled my offer and let you buy it!”

“I know you would have!” she shouted, dropping her arms and going red in the face. “I didn’t want you to!”

He couldn’t win. And he also couldn’t keep from grabbing her face, tugging those lips to his, and kissing her with every ounce of passion and anger and whatever else flowed between them whenever they reached this point with each other.

Gloria responded like he expected, tugging his T-shirt in both fists as she dragged him closer. They’d always been a volatile mix, their arguing a twisted form of foreplay. But when Asher’s hands went to her hips and pulled her close, he found himself softening and her softening against him.

She pressed those pillowy breasts to his chest and looped her arms around his neck as he tilted his head to the side to make out with her as thoroughly as possible. She let out a muffled moan and he splayed his hand across her back, tucking her into him.

She tasted like everything he wanted but couldn’t have. Being this close wasn’t enough. Not for either of them. He could tell by the sweep of her tongue in his mouth she felt the same way.

Review

Who doesn't love a Bad Boy that has more heart than you would think at first glance? And if you add in a sexy, fiesty, and witty woman to the mix? That makes for one great book.

This bad boy rockstar told her years ago that she was it for him, and now he's going to make her believe it. Gloria has built walls around her heart, and it's going to take a lot of hard work to bring them down. It won't be easy, but these two are going to have some ups and downs along the way, but in the end it will be all worth it.

I really enjoyed Jessica's writing, engaging the reader from the word go until the very end. The emotions flow off the pages, connecting with the reader's heart and soul. Add in an adorable child and you'll be swooning right along with the couple.

I would recommend this book, and series, to any looking for a Bad Boy to keep you company at night.
