Release Blitz & Review ~ The Ruthless Gentleman by Louise Bay

The Ruthless Gentleman
by Louise Bay

As a chief stewardess on luxury superyachts, I massage egos, pamper the spoiled and cater to the most outlandish desires of the rich and famous.

I’ve never had a guest want something I can’t give them. Until British businessman Hayden Wolf comes aboard—all sexy swagger and mysterious requests.

He wants me.

And Hayden Wolf’s a man who’s used to getting exactly what he demands.

Despite being serious and focused. Demanding and ruthless. He’s also charming when I least expect it as well as being devastatingly handsome with an almost irresistible smile.

But guests are strictly off limits and I’ve never broken a rule. Not even bent one. My family are depending on me and I can’t lose my job.

Only problem is Hayden Wolf is looking at me like I just changed his life. And he's touching me like he’s about to change mine.

A standalone romance.

“Good morning, sir. Coffee, juice, the Financial Times, and the Wall Street Journal,” I said as the doors slid open. I bent and put the tray on the table beside his chair, glancing at him to check his reaction. With his muscular, bronzed legs and slightly curly hair that had seemed straighter yesterday, he looked like any other guest. I couldn’t imagine he took much care in shopping for clothes and, given the way he’d reacted to me offering to unpack for him yesterday, it seemed unlikely he had a stylist or someone to buy them for him. Perhaps his expensively rumpled linen shirt, which was still on unfortunately, and French blue shorts had been bought by a girlfriend.

“Because I’m British?” he asked, indicating the Financial Times.

Clearly he wasn’t a morning person. “No, sir, we have that on board for all our guests.”

He slid his laptop to the end of the lounger. “You don’t need to call me sir. Hayden is just fine.”

“I was wondering,” I said, tucking the tray under my arm. “Chef Neill would really appreciate some guidance on your food preferences. Is there anything in particular you’d like to see on the menu?”

“I was serious yesterday when I said I don’t mind.”

Neill was climbing the walls with this guy’s lack of concern about mealtimes, and I hated to see him so stressed. I glanced out over the water. The haze of the sun sitting on the horizon blurred the coastline as though some kind of force field existed between the water and the land. “It’s going to be a scorching hot day. What about I get you fruit, yogurt and toast for your breakfast? A chicken, goat cheese and pomegranate salad for lunch and then what about sirloin steak in a watercress sauce for dinner?” I was pretty much suggesting my favorite foods.

A beat of silence passed as I waited for a response. He might think I was being too pushy and get irritated. Some men—I found it was the less confident ones—would react badly to a stewardess trying to steer them in one direction or another.

“I think that sounds like you just read my mind and described my favorite foods.”

I wanted to tell him they were mine but that was probably too familiar. “Reading minds is part of the package,” I replied, trying not to show how delighted I was at his reaction.

The corner of his mouth curled up and I wondered if he’d be a good kisser. “Good to know. I might have a use for that kinda skill.” He paused, almost as if he was going to say something, but then pulled his laptop back onto his knee as I mentally high-fived myself at getting this guy to engage a little, to loosen up. He stopped typing. “And actually, if you can throw in some carbs somewhere, that would work.”

“No problem.” I was about to walk away but I wanted more for Neill than just today’s menu. And it was my job to ensure Hayden Wolf had what he wanted.

“I guess in your business you like working with people who want to give their best. People who give one hundred percent, and are great at what they do?”

Hayden looked up from his laptop, frowning.

“Well, the crew want to do the same for you, and our mind-reading ability only goes so far. We want to give you our absolute best. Neill is a fantastic chef. This boat has amazing facilities—Jet Skis, a pool area that we can set up in the ocean that safeguards against jellyfish. We even have an inflatable banana.” I paused. “Although that might not be your thing.” It was difficult to imagine Hayden Wolf doing anything just for fun, but I was sure he’d go to his grave without sitting astride an inflatable banana. “We’re here to give one hundred percent. And we like what we do. I know you are incredibly busy, but if you could give some thought to your preferences sheet, maybe it will provide you with a little light relief between phone calls.” I set down a blank form I’d printed off in the wheelhouse earlier. “This is an unusual charter for us—just one guest, eight weeks.” I shrugged. “We would be really grateful for a bit of direction.”

He didn’t say anything but continued to look at me with his dark blue eyes after I finished speaking. “I’ll take a look,” he replied eventually.

“Sorry. I didn’t mean to go on. I just—”

“I’ll take a look.” He was done talking.

“Thank you.” I headed back to the main salon. It wasn’t a promise, but maybe he’d come up with something and at least I had today’s menu for Neill.

“Avery.”

I turned back to face him.

He didn’t look up from his laptop. “I’d like to deal with you as much as possible, exclusively, in fact.”

I didn’t let my smile drop as heat stirred in my belly. He wanted more time with me? Or did he not like Skylar and August?

“It might make things easier. I don’t want to have to fend off small talk from other crew.”

Review

Avery Walker never expected the turn her life would take but things don't always go as plan. Her family means the world to her and she'll do whatever it takes to provide for them. But when she takes this latest assignment, her life is turned upside down yet again.

Hayden Wolf has worked hard to get where he is in this world. So when his empire is threaten, he'll stop at nothing to find out who's behind the plot and do what it takes to make his empire stronger. What he never expected was the meet someone that completely turns his world upside.

Some line are meant to be crossed while others are not. Yet when attraction is as strong as what Avery and Hayden have, some chances are worth the risk.

But when certain actions come to light, will miscommunications and misunderstandings tear them apart for good, or will they be able to over come this hurdle and become a stronger couple?

The Ruthless Gentleman is a fun, exciting, engaging read that captives the reader right from start and keeps them enchanted until the sensational end.

Avery is smart, caring, and loyal woman that isn't afraid of a little hard work. I love how strong her passion is to be there for family as well as doing her best on job. She's a strong, independent woman who'll do what is needed and solve any problem that comes her way.

Hayden may be a ruthless business man, but he is also a very humble and kind human being. I love how close he is with his brother, their banter is stellar for sure. His keen intellect and kind heart make him a hero worth swooning over.

I enjoyed watching Avery and Hayden getting to know each other and finally succumbing to their passion. Their connection is intense right from the start and only grows that more time they spend together. But be warned, Hayden has a way with words that will make you panties melt, knees weak, and hearts skip a beat.

Louise has give us another sizzling read that you won't want to put down. The storyline is fun and engaging, the hero is intriguing and sexy, the heroine is witty and saucy, and passion that will take your breath away.

I highly recommend you pack your bags, grab your sunscreen, and get ready for trip filled with sun, surf, and a whole lot of sex appeal.

TheBritishKnight.Ebook

The British Knight
by Louise Bay
Release Date: December 5th
Genre: Contemporary Romance

When I’m offered the chance to leave New York to live in London for three months, I can’t pack my suitcase fast enough.

As soon as I touch down I’m obsessing over red telephone boxes, palaces and all the black cabs.

But my favorite place is the tube. It’s wall-to-wall hot British men in suits.

When I’m offered a temporary job working for a barrister, I say, sign me up.

On my first commute into work, it’s a total accident when I lose my balance and fall against the most handsome Brit alive. He’s as charming as James Bond and as suave as Mr. Darcy. I want to lick tea from his hard abs and listen to his accent all night long.

Turns out Mr. Handsome is my new boss. And his attitude isn’t as hot as his gorgeous face, broad shoulders and tight ass. He’s brooding, short-tempered and the most arrogant man I’ve ever met.

As we’re fighting, out of nowhere he kisses me. And I’m pretty sure I see fireworks over Big Ben and hear God Save the Queen.

I wasn’t looking for the fairytale but I might have found my knight in shining armor. The problem is he lives an ocean away.

A stand-alone, contemporary romance.

Excerpt

Alexander

My workout this morning had been punishing. The harder I worked, the harder I worked out. I was a big believer in that if I wasn’t physically fit, I couldn’t perform as well in my job. And I was willing to do whatever I had to do to be the best barrister I could be. As a result, I’d been up since five, worked out until six thirty, and then had a conference call with Dubai at seven. I hated days when I was late into the office, but this morning couldn’t be helped. My commute had been . . . unusual. The woman I’d knocked into while getting off the tube had been beautiful, and I couldn’t keep the image of her gazing up at me in the middle of Lincoln’s Inn Fields out of my brain. I needed to focus. And perhaps get laid when I got the time. But it wouldn’t be tonight. I’d be working. I had hundreds of witness statements to go through and my opening statement to draft.

In three days, I’d be in court, and that was my sole focus. There was no time to be wasted on fantasizing about women.

As I trawled through my emails, trying to pick out the important ones from the hundreds littering my inbox, someone knocked at my door. I resisted the temptation to growl. I hated being interrupted—I needed a sign for the door.

“Come in,” I barked.

The door swung open, and I could tell by the footsteps that the head clerk had swooped in. “Mr. Knightley.”

“Craig.” I didn’t take my focus off my laptop screen. Craig was an avuncular and charming man in his mid-fifties. He’d been in the business since he was fifteen and had clerked my father. If anyone could interrupt me, he could. And he knew it. Over the years, I’d tried to get him to call me Alex, but he insisted all the clerks and admin staff call the barristers by their surnames. The bar could be a very old-fashioned place.

“I want to introduce you to your new assistant, Violet King.”

I paused, my fingers hovering over my keyboard. I knew nothing of this and would never have agreed to it—I worked alone. Slowly, I turned to find Craig in front of my desk, his eyebrows raised in expectation.

“My what?” I asked. A figure moved in beside him and I slid my gaze to the right. I found myself staring straight at the beautiful woman who’d invaded my thoughts since I’d arrived in chambers. What was going on? I looked away from her, sure that Craig would see my attraction to her if my eyes lingered over her for more than a split second.

Review

Violet King is in need of a restart after the past several years she's had. So when she gets the opportunity to go to London to help her find herself and her purpose, she decides to jump on it. Getting a temp job was an incredible new start for her, but she expected was to find love.

Alexander Knightley is a work-a-holic and has no reason to change the way things are. But when that feisty, strong willed, beautiful American walks into his life, everything gets turned upside down.

The sexual tension between the two grows more and more with each passing day until it ignites into an inferno.

They enter into a relationship knowing it could never amount to anything since Violet is only in London for a few months and Alex will always put his work first. But as the relationship evolves, feeling develop, and promises get broken.

Will they be able to work through their issues before it's too late? Or was this only ever supposed to be a passing fling?

The British Knight is a witty, sassy, sexy, captivating read that will delight readers everywhere.

I love how Violet and Alex connect and push each other out of their comfort zones. Their push and pull is sensational and their passion is hot. I had to stop a couple of time just to cool off.

Louise always brings heart and soul into her books and The British Knight is no different. Louise's writing makes the reader feel they too are on the emotional journey she takes Violet and Alex.

The British Knight is a book that I would highly recommend with it's delightful banter, intense passion, charming heroine, broody hero, and entertaining storyline. This is one knight in shining armor you don't want to say no to.

Matt Easton

“You have a boyfriend?”

She took another sip of wine and set it back on the table before she replied. “You’ve half asked that before.”

I chuckled. True. Not that I was going to act differently if she told me—either way I needed to keep my distance. I just wanted to meet the man who had managed to land this woman. “And I’m still coming up empty.” I glanced at the rise and fall of her creamy breasts, only barely covered by her camisole, and swallowed. Hard. I really should leave.

“See that?” she asked, pointing up over the ocean. “Lightning. And again.”

“Wow, that nearly cut the sky in half.”

Our eyes locked first in excited, shared understanding and then the connection transformed into something that had nothing to do with the lightning. She looked away first. I would have stayed, my eyes fixed on hers the whole night, if she hadn’t. “The air feels charged with something.”

“I don’t have a boyfriend,” she whispered.

It was an invitation, and not one I wanted to turn down. I wanted to touch her, see if her lips were as soft as they looked.

“I want to kiss you,” I said, shifting so that she, and not the storm, had all my attention.

The thunder rumbled again.

Despite the noise surrounding us, I could only focus on the sound of her breathing. My pulse jumped under my skin, at my neck, in my wrists, in my dick.

I really shouldn’t be doing this.

But it was just a kiss.

And she was so beautiful.

And then it would be over.

I slid my thumb over her bottom lip. “Look at me,” I said.

My gaze flickered down as her breasts rose with her breath. It took every ounce of control not to yank her cami down and put my mouth on that warm, soft, pliant flesh.

As I looked at her, our eyes locked, and this time heat passed back and forth between us, growing more scorching with each passing moment.

She wanted me to kiss her. Maybe even strip her naked on this deck and fuck her hard and long until I knew every part of her.

I groaned, blood rushing to my dick, and leaned in to press my lips softly on the corner of her mouth. Her breath was hot and heavy against my cheek. I dropped my hand to her ass and slid her onto my lap.

Wrapping my hands around her silky hair that smelled of the ocean, I pulled, tilting her head back and exposing her neck.

I’d been kidding myself to think this was just a kiss. I wasn’t sure if it was because it had been so long since I’d fucked someone new or whether it was the storm or just the way Lana looked at me, but my whole body reverberated with lust. I wanted to touch, hold, possess her.

I trailed my teeth along her jaw and she squirmed in my lap. I slid my palms up her thighs and lifted her so she was straddling me.

Just a kiss. Right.

I wanted her closer, so I wrapped my hand around the back of her neck and brought her mouth to mine in a fractured, desperate connection. With my other hand, I pushed her ass against me. The heat of her covered pussy against my erection made me groan. Sliding my tongue against the seam of her lips, I delved deeper. Fuck, I’d forgotten how hot making out could be. The stuff before the fucking. Before my reform, it had been all about release. All about seeing how fast I could have a woman’s mouth wrapped around my cock after making eye contact with her.

But not now. Not out here on the porch with Lana. All I could think about was how I couldn’t fuck her, how I’d never make it that far.

She smelled so damn good. Tasted even better.

Review

Matt Easton is a man with a plan and he's not about to be derailed.

Lana Kelly is woman that likes her life just the way it is... calm, predictable.

But these two are about to meet and their worlds are going to be turned upside down.

Can their whirlwind affair handle the pressure when the world finds out about them? Or will their affair be over before it even gets started?

Hollywood Scandal is a fun, witty, saucy book that captivates the reader right from the start. The chemistry that is between Matt and Lana sizzles from the first second they meet and only intensifies as the story progresses. I love how they give as much as they take. Lana falls for the Matt the man, not Matt the actor. Matt shows Lana just how special she is and that's she's stronger than she gives herself credit for.

Louise gives us another phenomenal story with heart, soul, and a lot of heat. I devoured and savored this book, just couldn't get enough of it. The passion she wrote into Hollywood Scandal is enchanting and warms the reader's heart. Hollywood Scandal is a glamorous romance with a small town feel.

Review

Hat damn, just when I think I couldn't love Louise Bay enough, she goes and gives us a Duke!

A sexy, suit wearing, dirty talking, sultry smirk giving Duke. One that not only has a big package but know how to use it. Not to mention he's very talented with his finger and tongue too.

Ryder and Scarlett have a chance meeting one night and decide a delicious one-night stand would do them both good. The only thing they didn't expect was to come face to face the next day in a conference room. Both are in a bit of a jam in their businesses when Ryder comes up with a plan that could help them both out. And although Scarlett is reluctant, she agrees to this unconventional plan.

But what started out as a business agreement quickly turns into something neither expected. And when the tides turn and their arrangement is no longer need, will they walk away from their relationship or will they find away to make this a permanent situation?

I read this book from cover to cover in one sitting and would gladly do it again. I couldn't put it down and I really didn't want to. I loved they connection Ryder and Scarlett have, it's intense and all encompassing. Their passion is evident right from the start, but their is more to their bond then just what happens in the bedroom. It's all the little things they do for each other that draws the reader in.

Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of sexiness contained in these pages. Ryder's got game and he knows it. He maybe a little cocky but that works to his advantage. It's easy to see what women swoon and panties melt whenever Ryder comes around.

Scarlett is a force to be reckoned with, she isn't some meek woman you can push around. She knows what she wants and is more that willing to do the work to make it happen. She's a strong, independent woman who's smart. kind, and always willing to lend a helping hand. I admire the love she has for her family and friends.

Duke of Manhattan is a thrilling, sultry, spellbinding book that will leave you smiling, utterly satisfied, and still yearning for more.

Her books include the novels Faithful and Hopeful and the novella series' The Empire State Series, What the Lightning Sees and Calling Me. The novels and together the series are stand-alone although there are some overlapping characters.

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn't have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
