Chapter One

The letter smelled like her. 

Like rain. 

He ran his thumb over the corner of the paper, and closed his eyes briefly. Memories rose to the surface, feeling like hope and possibility. 

Far too risky things when it came to her. 

Michael shut them down, opened his eyes, and stared out the floor-to-ceiling windows of his penthouse on the Strip, trying to focus on the here and now, not the enticing lure of what if. Soon, the lights of Vegas would blink like a carnival unfolding below him, from the miniature Eiffel Tower, to the pyramid, to the blazing signs adorning The Cosmopolitan. Neon, glitz, and billboards ten stories high whispered of the best nights ever. 

He had to stay fixed on the minute details of the present, not be seduced by the past, and how good it was. Or of how much he’d longed for a future with her. 

But he wasn’t having the easiest time of that. From his vantage point, twenty stories above the concrete ribbon that beckoned millions of tourists, he brought the letter to his nose for one final inhale.

I love Elle's strength. Her ex put her through the ringer, but she picked herself up. She's got spunk and charisma. And she knows how to fight her way in roller derby. She is seriously a kick ass woman! I love that she's got standards with regards to the men in her live, even if it meant pushing Colin. He's resilience is what helps brings her walls down. He knows that Elle is special and isn't afraid to show her just how special she is to him. And just like Colin, Elle will do everything to protect her family. What's not to love about that?

This book is brilliant to say the least. This story is full of passion and heart that will leave you longing for more. The mystery that surrounds the death of Sloan patriarch keeps getting deeper and deeper. The revolutions the come out during this book is astonishing and that end will take your breath away. That was a turn I did not see coming! Cannot wait to see how all this play eventually play out.

I am continually awestruck with Lauren's ability to capture this reader's heart with each dirty talking Blakely Boy and Colin is no exception.

“His fingers traveled along her spine and up her neck to her hair, grabbing it, turning her so she looked up at him. Her eyes were hazy and full of a lust that matched his. “Do you have any idea what you do to me?” he asked harshly.

“I think I do.”

“You are under my skin,” he whispered, as he kept her pressed against the warm hood with one hand, then slinked his other hand down to her waist, and unfastened the slim, orange belt. “And in my head,” he continued as he snapped the belt free. “And I can’t fucking stop thinking about you.”

“I can’t stop either,” she said, and in a flash he wrapped the belt around her wrists, knotting it, twisting it, and tying her hands together with her own accessory. She allowed him, offering up her wrists to be bound. She was a willing hostage.

“That turns me on even more,” he growled in her ear, as he stretched her tied arms along the silver hood.

“Tying me up?”

When Lauren said Ryan was going to be the hottest, sexiest, dirtiest Blakely Boy yet, I was intrigued. Could there ever be another to top Nate? Come on, Nate was all that and then some! I need a fan just thinking about him. So I got comfy and cracked open this book to see what all the fuss was about and I was seriously under prepared for the likes of Ryan Sloan. Hot tamales, that man is everything that was promised and then some.

Ryan Sloan is the guy that is looking for a good time with a healthy scoop of sexy on the side. Due to his past, he is very jaded about love, marriage, kids, and white picket fences. He makes a good living doing something that he excels at, lives in a home in the nice neighborhood, a loyal dog to keep him company, and the love and respect of his family. Really, what more could he ask for?

Of course fate has answer for him and it comes in the shape of one Sophie Winston.

Sophie is stunning; unbelievably stunning. She's made her mark, and fortune, in the most unlikely of places and now she is using her talent and looks to help those around her.
