Synopsis

This whole contest was supposed to be easy. I know, I know. Famous last words.

It’s a long story, but I messed up at work. Big time. To earn back the trust of my boss, I promised to save one of our magazines. Yep. That Hot Dad contest you’ve seen advertised all over the place was my idea. And if I’m successful, if I’m able to increase our online readership, then I get a shot at my dream job.

But the one thing I never expected to happen, happened: Contestant number ten, Grayson Malone. Hello, Mr. Difficult. And did I mention sexy as hell?

Unfortunately he knows me. The old me, anyway. And while we might be older now, I remind him of before. Of the woman who broke his heart, who hardened him, and who left him alone to raise the cutest little boy I’ve ever seen.

But I don’t want a relationship. And I definitely don’t fall for single dads with baggage. Even ones with chiseled abs and killer smiles.

But he got to me. They got to me. Him and his son and their messy, crazy life. But I got to him too. I see the stolen glances. I feel the walls he built start to crumble. I recognize that there’s an unexpected beauty to the chaos in his life.

And now that the contest is about to end, we’re left to decide whether the last six months were just fun or if what we have is worth risking it all?

Excerpt

But by the time I reach her, my blood boils with irrationality spurred on by too much alcohol. “Can I have a moment?” I ask as I walk up to her and grab her elbow, pushing her down the darkened hallway.

“What is your problem?” She hisses as she fights me every step of the way.

We get looks. I get looks. I don’t care because all I keep seeing is Vince’s hands on her arm. His eyes on her tits. His bullshit game I can spot a mile away.

I find the closest door down the hallway leading to the bathrooms, and it opens. I push her through it, barely noticing that it’s an office of sorts before the door is shut, her back is up against it, and my mouth is covering hers.

Take.

Goddammit. That’s my only thought as I fit my lips to hers and take out my anger on her mouth with tongue and teeth and every fucking lick and nip in between.

“What—”

“I’m so pissed at you.”

It’s all I say. It’s the only chance I give her to come up for air before my lips are back on hers. Before my tongue wars with hers. Before my body admits it would beg, borrow, and steal in order to taste every other part of her.

Groan.

I swallow the tiny sound she makes in our kiss as my hands hold her neck still and my lips wage an all-out assault. She hesitates—just a split second—before she reacts. Before her body bows into me, and her mouth argues back.

Fist.

Her hand in my shirt. Her other hand at the back of my neck as our bodies meet—pressed knee to chest. Her perfume in my nose. Her hair tickling my cheeks. The feel of her tits against my chest.

Give.

I can’t get enough.

I’m mad at her.

I want her.

I don’t want to want her.

Christ, do I want her.

“Gray.” A murmured protest.

I tear my lips from hers, shove off the door I have her pressed against, and stride to the other side of the room.

“You are . . . you just . . .” It’s as if I can barely breathe. Christ, I’m mad at you.”

She stands there, lips parted, chest heaving, and golden brown curls messed from my hands, but her eyes look hurt. A hurt I don’t want to see but can’t deny.

“Why?”

“You did this,” I accuse as I try to manage the anger that’s waging a war against my desire.

“Did what?” Her eyes narrow. Her hand goes to press against her chest.

“Made me want you.”

Grayson: I’ve been thinking about you all day.

I look down at the text and smile before turning my attention back to Rissa and our plans for how we’re going to end this round of voting and move on to the top five.

“So, I think we close it out and then maybe take the next week and announce one of the finalists each day. Give little tidbits about each of them, make readers like them more, just have fun with it.”

My phone beeps again with another text, and I bite back the new grin trying to form on my lips. Rissa only huffs, eyeing my phone with annoyance. “Sorry, let me turn my ringer off.”

And then I have to feign nonchalance when I look down at my phone and find another text.

Grayson: My dick is rock hard, and it’s you I’m imagining. It’s in my hand when I’d rather it be in your mouth with my fingers in your pussy, working you into a frenzy.

“Is everything okay?” Rissa asks, making me realize I must have made a noise when I read the text. “You look startled.”

I glance back at the text again and shake my head while every part of my body comes to life. “Yeah, it’s, uh, fine.”

“Your ringer.” Her brows are lifted as she glances to my phone and then back to me.

My finger?” I squeak, thinking she saw the phone screen.

“Ringer. Sound on your phone.”

“Oh, yes . . . sorry.” Flustered, I fumble with my cell, and before I can even switch it off, another text alert pings.

Grayson: I want to bend you over and watch as my cock slides in and out of you.

“So back to next week . . .”

“Yes,” I swallow over the desire lodged in every place it should be and try not to glance at my phone as it vibrates again.

“Are you good with that plan?” Rissa asks as I shift in my seat to abate the sudden ache burning brighter than bright.

“Yes. Sure. I think that sounds like a great plan.”

Grayson: I want my cock buried so deep that you feel every damn inch of me.

“Are you sure you’re okay?”

“Yeah, why?” My voice breaks like a prepubescent teenager.

Grayson: I want you to come so hard you have to bite the pillow.

“You look a little flushed. Are you coming down with something?”

Grayson: You always have a choice. Isn’t that what you said to me once? Make a choice, Sidney. Isn’t it time to head to lunch?

“I mean, yeah, maybe.” I pull at my collar some. “Maybe that’s why I feel so flushed all of a sudden.”

Grayson: Meet me on the backside of The Cottages. Room Six. Fifteen minutes.

“Either that,” she says as she stands and heads to the door, only turning back to give me a wink, “or you’re guilty as hell. Maybe you should go take care of that itch texting you . . . or take some Tylenol. Whichever one it is, I think you should take the afternoon off.”

Grayson: Choose me.

“Oh.” It’s the only thing I can think to say because my brain is otherwise occupied imagining Grayson following through on his promises.

“And, Sid?”

“Yeah?”

“I sure hope he’s every bit worth breaking the rules.” She winks. “It’s about damn time. Your secret is safe with me.”

Review

Sidney Thorton has lived a privileged life, but that doesn't mean she's without a big heart. When a friend needs her help she drops everything and in the process missing an important appointment. This is the last straw for her father and send her back to her hometown to prove she is has what it takes to run the family business.

Grayson Malone's whole life revolve around his son and his career. And after a disastrous end to his last relationship, the last thing on his mind is settling down like his brothers. But he's about to come face to face with a blast from the past that turns his world upside down.

Sidney wants to prove she's more than just a pretty face with a trust fund.

Grayson has walls he has no intention of breaking down.

They're a an unlikely couple but there's no denying their attraction.

But Sidney slowly makes her way into Grayson's heart and Grayson slowly makes her reconsider her returning to her city live.

And when push comes to shove, will they find a way to make this connection long lasting, or will this be a risk they aren't willing to take.

Worth The Risk is a fun, sassy, intriguing read that will captivate you right from the start until the sensational end.

I loved Sidney right from the start for her loyalty to her friend and love she has for her family. While she may let her father down more often than not, she always tries to the right thing. She's a lot strong and more determined than people give her credit for.

Grayson is a tough man to crack, but once there is more to him than what appears. He's got a big heart and will always be there is step in and help when needed. And the lengths he goes to love and care for his son are swoon worthy in of it's self.

And when they stop fighting the attraction, Sidney and Grayson heat things up over and over again.

But the real showstopper is Luke and the things he says and does. I seriously love that kid.

I was so excited to finally get Grayson's book and it was totally worth the wait. The storyline was entertaining, the hero handsome and completely delectable, the heroine saucy and alluring, and the passion off the charts.

If you love Kristy's work, then you'll love Worth The Risk. If Kristy is new to you, then Worth The Risk is the perfect read to start with. Either way, you don't want to miss this highly emotional and remarkable read.

My Review

Dylan McCoy just wanted a place where she could relax, recharge, and decide her next move in her career. Walking into her home and seeing the man she loved with another woman may have shook her, but her time in Sunnyville will change her life completely.

Grady Malone may be the baby of the family, but his life has been far from ideal in recent years. The tragedy left him with more scare than those on the outside. He may have adopted a love 'em and leave 'em attitude and is no hurry to change thing, but he's about to meet a woman that make he see life in a whole new way.

Their time together was meant to be short with no strings attached, but the more time they spend together the deeper their connection grows. And when push comes to shove, will they be willing to risk it all and try to build a lasting relationship? Or will their past be too hard to overcome and tear these two part forever?

Combust is an exciting, heartwarming, sensual read from start to finish.

The chemistry between Dylan and Grady sizzle right off the pages. I love their banter is witty and sensational. And when things heat up... be prepared for a cold shower or two. Hot. Hot. Hot.

I love how Dylan isn't afraid to speak her mind even if it means pushing Grady out of his comfort zone. She's feisty and saucy and everything nice.

Grady may appear rough around the edges, but he's got a heart of gold. He's love for his family, friends, and his job is admirable. And when push comes to shove, he'll always do what needs to be done.

I loved Combust and savored every minute of it. Grady is a hero in more ways than one and Dylan is force to be reckoned with.

So if you are looking for a book that will make you laugh, cry, and swoon, then I highly recommend you pick up Combust. Grady will light your fire, get your temperature soaring, and leave you satisfied but still yearning for more.

Excerpt

Preoccupied with a text on my phone from my agent, I walk into the kitchen and suck in a breath when I come face to back with Grady. He’s standing with his hand on the refrigerator door, head leaned inside, and his back fully exposed to me. It’s broad and strong and scarred immeasurably.

I stare.

I can’t help it. The marks are a dizzying array of dark and light and ridged and smooth. And they’re undeniably burns. Goosebumps chase over my skin as I imagine the pain he must have endured when he got those. I think of his habit of wearing unbuttoned shirts but never going shirtless and the hint of scars just visible above his collar that I never could have imagined led to this roadmap to hell on his back.

A part of me instinctively wants to reach out to touch them, bring some kind of comfort. It sounds ridiculous, even to me, but that doesn’t abate the urge.

“Not pretty, huh? Get a good look while you can.” His voice is gruff as his spine stiffens and body stills, emotion woven through the words.

“Thank God not all of you is pretty. I was beginning to feel majorly insecure having to live with perfection like you,” I say off the cuff, trying to make this situation less awkward. My attempt to settle the sudden tension sparking in the air around us.

“Perfection?” he asks as he turns to face me with a smile that masks the emotion swirling in his eyes.

“Yeah. You have scars. I have mermaid thighs.”

“Mermaid thighs?” He laughs. “What in the world are you talking about?”

“Thighs that touch from the top all the way to my knees.” I shrug as if it doesn’t bug me, as if I’m not highlighting one of the insults Tara threw at me. It’s a whole lot easier to make fun of myself so long as it puts him at ease.

“Do you ever give yourself a break?”

Do you?” I ask the question, sparking a silent battle of wills as we stare at each other and wonder what to say next about the other’s insecurities. Coming up empty, I shift gears. “I think there is some type of rule about how many abs are fair for a guy to have when the rest of us are just struggling to find one of them.”

His smile rings more genuine as he steps toward me, and I step back, my hips leaning against the counter now.

“Is that so?” His voice lowers as his eyes flick to my lips and then back up. “I’m sure you have some under your shirt there.”

Why does the simple action make it seem so hard to swallow?

He takes another step.

“What are you building outside?”

“A playroom.”

A nervous chuckle falls from my lips as I think of all of the versions of playrooms I’ve read about in my romance books. My cheeks stain red as I imagine Grady with a flogger in one hand standing beside a St. Andrew’s Cross.

“A playroom?”

“Yeah.” He takes a step closer so we’re breathing the same air, his voice husky enough to cause every part of my body to grow alert. “A playroom. You know . . . a pool table. Foosball. A real man cave.”

I exhale a shaky sigh, suddenly more than aware that he’s so close, shirtless, sweaty, and smelling like sun and soap mixed together. But it’s his eyes that make my thoughts falter. There’s an intensity to them I don’t expect from the perpetually cheerful Grady Malone.

“Ah, that kind of playroom . . .” But my words trail off as he steps even closer and braces his hands on the counter on either side of me. I can hear his intake of breath. The music floating in from outside. The pound of my pulse in my ears.

“Hey, Dyl?”

“Yes?” Our eyes hold, my lips fall lax.

“I need you to open up.”

What?” I question as his hand brushes against my hip and his fingers pull on the drawer handle I’m standing in front of.

“I need the bottle opener. You’re standing in front of the drawer it’s in.” His lips spread into a full-fledged grin as I scramble away from the counter and, of course, run smack dab into the hardness, all six foot plus of him.

And then I rebound off him again in a flustered state that has him laughing and me stuttering. “Sorry. I wasn’t—I didn’t . . .” His arms hold on to my biceps to steady me, which prompts me to look up and meet his eyes.

“We need to stop meeting like this,” he murmurs, the heat of his breath hitting my lips.

“We do.” Brilliant, Dylan. Freaking brilliant response. “I’ve gotta . . . I’ve gotta get back to . . . to writing.”

Review Tour ~ Cuffed, Everyday Heroes #1, by K. Bromberg

Cuffed
By: K. Bromberg
Release Day – Oct 23
Standalone

From the New York Times bestselling author, K. Bromberg, comes a new series about three brothers, the job that calls them, and the women who challenge them.

“I hate you. I never want to see you again.”

Grant Malone is not the reason I moved back to Sunnyville—at least that’s what I tell myself. Yet, those parting words I said to him back in third grade, ring in my ears every time a townsperson brings up one of the Malone boys. I thought time had healed my wounds. I was wrong. Nothing could have prepared me for how I felt when I finally saw him again.

Twenty years does a lot to turn a boy into a man. One who hits all my buttons—sexy, funny, attractive, and a police officer. But Grant is off limits because he knows too much about my past.

But I’m drawn to him. That damn uniform of his doesn’t hurt either. It’ll be my downfall. I know it. What’s one night of sex going to hurt . . . right?

***

I’ve always loved Emmy Reeves.

That’s why I’m shocked to see her all these years later. The shy girl I once knew is all grown up.

Adventurous and full of life, she owns my heart now, just as much as she did back then. Convincing her of that is a whole different story.

I’ll give her the one night she asks for—like that’s a hardship—but when it comes to letting her walk away after, she has another thing coming. There’s no way in hell I’m letting her go this time without a fight.

Review

When Emerson Reeves left years ago she never expecting to return, but her now she's back. Her nomad life has then the only thing she's known for years so settling down and growing roots is a new concept for her.

Many say Grant Malone has a hero complex and given his career maybe they are right. He takes his job seriously... protect and serve.

A chance encounter brings these two long lost friends back together. They have a connection that still stands after all these years, but there also is an attraction neither expected.

As they spend time together reconnecting, memories start to surface for Emmy she rather forget.

Can they work together to get over the past and embrace a future? Or will the past be too much and cause Emmy to run and never look back?

Cuffed is an intense, emotional, passionate, second chance romance that will take the reader on a journey they never will forget.

I didn't really know what to expect when I picked up Cuffed, but in the end I was glad I did pick it up. I was enraptured right from the start and didn't want to see it end.

I loved Grant's personality, passion, and most of all his heart. Emmy's a stronger woman than she believes she is. Given her past you wouldn't expect that to be case, but she's a fighter and a survivor. Their past brings them together, but it's their present is what their future is built upon.

And the sexiness? Hot damn! Grant can make heart stops and panties melt with his sexy smirk and tight abs. He can handcuff me to the bed any time he wants.

Cuffed is a story that I would highly recommend not just for the sexiness, but for the deep emotional journey it takes you on. Kristy has a knack for weaving a story that is intense and profound leaving the reader with a serious book hangover.

The Catch
The Player Duet, Book Two
By K. Bromberg
Release Day – June 29th, 2017

After an unexpected twist of fate, All-Star catcher Easton Wylder is left questioning the loyalty of everyone around him.

Even the woman who shares his bed, Scout Dalton.

But if Easton thought being uprooted to the last place he expected was the only challenge life had to throw at him, he was dead wrong.

With an ailing shoulder and his career in limbo, his decision to make an unexpected change leads him to question everything – Scout’s love, family loyalties, and whether he can conquer the one obstacle he’s never been able to overcome. The secret he’s never shared with anyone.

He may be a man pushed to his limits, but he’s hell-bent on proving his worth no matter the cost.

Review

Scout and Easton are back and they are back with a home run!

The Catch picks up right where The Player left off, Easton has just been blindsided by being traded. And if that wasn't enough, Easton is going to have to deal with a few more curve balls the never saw coming.

Scout made a split decision that turned her life upside down, but she knows she did the right thing. However upset Easton may be by her decision, she isn't going to let him just push her away. She'll fight for their relationship for as long as it takes.

Easton doesn't know who he can trust, but his heart tells him that Scout is the one person that has his best interest at heart.

As the hits keep coming and secrets get revealed, Easton and Scout will have to face them together or risk losing their relationship in the fallout.

Wow! Wow! Wow! The Catch is an incredible conclusion to The Player Duet.

I adored Easton and Scout in The Player but after finishing The Catch I was head over heels in love with them. Their connection is electric, intense, pure, and profound. Watching them weather the storm only endears them to the reader.

The secret that Easton has kept about himself for so many years is stunning. I admire how he took steps to fix the issue, but his confession to Scout and her determination to stand by him and help him pulls at the reader's heartstrings.

And that one bombshell that Easton's father drops is jaw-dropping. It throws Easton, but he's won't let that define him. He'll rise above it and move forward.

I love how Scout doesn't let anything stand in her way of what she wants. The way she stands up for Easton melts my heart. She also isn't afraid to put Easton in his place when needed, she a badass in my book. And her love and devotion to her family is marvelous.

The Catch is a sensational conclusion that keeps you captivated from start to finish. The romance is spectacular, the drama is gripping, and the writing is superb. The hero will steal your heart and melt your panties. The heroine will dazzle you and become your best friend. Overall, The Catch is must read that I would highly recommend.

If you are looking for a read that takes you on an incredible journey and leave you with a delightful book hangover, then I highly recommend you pick The Player Duet. It's a home run!

Pageflex Persona [document: PRS0000038_00074]Baseball has never been sexier in an all-new novel by New York Times Bestselling Author, K. Bromberg.

Easton Wylder is baseball royalty. The game is his life. His passion. His everything.

So, when an injury threatens to end Easton’s season early, the team calls in renowned physical therapist, Doc Dalton, to oversee his recovery. Except it’s not Doc who greets Easton for his first session, but rather, his daughter, Scout. She may be feisty, athletic, defiant, and gorgeous, but Easton is left questioning whether she has what it takes to help him.

Scout Dalton’s out to prove a female can handle the pressure of running the physical therapy regimen of an MLB club. And that proof comes in the form of getting phenom Easton Wylder back on the field. But getting him healthy means being hands-on.

And with a man as irresistible as Easton, being hands-on can only lead to one thing, trouble. Because the more she touches him, the more she wants him, and she can’t want him. Not when it’s her job to maintain the club’s best interest, in regards to whether he’s ready to play.

But when sparks fly and fine lines are crossed, can they withstand the heat, or is one of them bound to get burned?
