Series Review ~ The Breeder Series by Cara Bristol

Breeder Trilogy is a dark science fiction romance set in a world where love is viewed as weakness and ruthlessly stamped out. Culture and law enforce a caste system, decreeing men to be the natural, rightful rulers and women to be breeding slaves.

In this harsh, brutal misogynistic culture, one man and one woman violate all the rules by falling in love. Their forbidden love sets off a chain reaction that begins to unravel their world.

Each book of Breeder trilogy is a stand-alone romance between a different hero and heroine who find their HEA by the end of the book. There are no cliffhangers in the characters’ romances. However, what does continue from one book to the next and isn’t resolved until the final book is the story of the Parseon women and their struggle for equality.

Breeder, which introduces the misogynistic world, is probably the darkest of the novels. Terran is a bit lighter with moments of humor, and in Warrior, there is resolution.

Breeder
Breeder Series, Book One

She was only meant to be the Alpha Commander’s slave… but she became everything.

High Commander Dak, a ruling Alpha of planet Parseon, purchases Omra strictly as a breeder slave. He intends to impregnate her, produce a son, and hand her off to his anointed beta partner, Corren. Any infractions of the rules by her will be harshly punished.

But as Dak and Omra discover a sexual bliss banned by law, Dak begins to question the traditions and ways of his people, causing him to jeopardize his command and endanger the life of the woman he has come to love.

Dak has enemies, men who will not hesitate to exploit his fondness for Omra, and use it to portray him as unfit to rule as Alpha. Can he expose the rampant cruelty and corruption in Parseon culture… or will the protocol he’s spent his life defending, be the weapon used to destroy them and their love?

Review

Omra hasn't had easy since arriving at the Breeding Facility. But her life is about to change in ways she never expected when the Alpha Commander comes and takes her away to be his.

Dak was only looking for a breeder to sire an heir, but there is something about Omra that calls to him like no other before.

The more Dak spends in Omra's company, the more his connection to her deepens. However this connection goes against the law of the land.

He knows the best thing he could do for Omra is to send her back to the Breeding Facility, but just the thought of another touching her angers him.

So when her life, and in turn his as well, is threaten Dak will stop at nothing to keep them safe. Even if it means given up the life he's built.

Breeder is a thrilling, exotic, sensual read that captives the read from start to finish. The chemistry between Dak and Omra is electric right from that first glance. The sparks fly of the pages has their relationship intensifies.

What I love most about Dak and Omra is that even though they didn't understand what their feeling were trying to tell them, they didn't fight it. Especially Dak, he knew what his attraction to Omra could cost him but he couldn't just let go of her.

The storyline will keep you glue to page while guessing what will happen next. The twist and turns takes the reader on an exhilarating journey.

If you are looking for something a little dark, a sultry heroine, a hero that would defend his love even if it cost him his life, and romance that is out of this world, then I would recommend you read Breeder.

Terran
Breeder Series, Book Two

She’s at the mercy of her alien abductor…

After a vicious attack on Earth, Tara Diehl flees earth for the dubious safety of planet Parseon. A vendor in the marketplace, she’s adjusted to the male-dominated culture better than most until she’s kidnapped by Alpha Commander Marlix, one of the five rulers of the planet. At first she’s terrified of her tall, muscled abductor, especially when he doesn’t hesitate to quell her struggle for freedom with a little corporal discipline. After all her methods and ploys to escape fail, she decides to seduce her way to freedom.

But out of subterfuge grows a true intimacy that cause Marlix and Tara to take a stand that drives Parseon to the brink of a civil war, which threatens their love and their lives.

Terran, the second book in the Breeder series, is a “capture” romance involving a domineering but hunky alien and a female with a bad dye job and an even worse attitude.

Review

Welcome back to Parseon!

This time we get to know Alpha Commander Marlix and the strong willed and very saucy Tara.

The sparks fly when these two first meet, even if neither want to attempt it. But it takes an attack on Tara to brings these two together in the most unconventional way.

And as their relationship grows and deeps, the threat to Tara's life increases causing Marlix much trepidation. Does he keep her close or does he send her back to Terran? Protecting her is crucial because his feeling for her are profound and completely against Protocol.

Tara isn't just willy-nilly, waiting around for some man to protect her. She's survived each trial and tribulation that has been sent her way. So if Marlix thinks she's just going to cower, then he's got another thing coming.

Threats are everywhere but passion ensues, sassy barbs are thrown, and a love grows. This is one couple that will make you laugh, cry, swoon, and begging for more.

I absolutely loved Terran and devoured it in what felt like seconds. I just loved the dynamic between Marlix and Tara, it volatile in the best way possible. The way Tara handled Marlix is brilliant and full of sass. Her little, shall we say, "endearing" comments about Marlix's caveman behavior is everything you'd expect from a strong willing, independent woman.

Marlix never expected a feisty woman to capture his heart, then again he never expected any woman to do so. How he handles his growing feeling and ultimately embracing them will melt your heart.

Granted the way these two first came together was unconventional at best, but as their relationship developed and you get to know them better, you can't help but think a conventional meeting would have sufficed for them. These two buck the norm and for that you can't but love them.

Cara has delivered another captivating story full of intrigue, heart, and hope for the future. I would highly recommend Terran to anyone looking for something that's dramatic, seductive, and bewitching.

Warrior

Review

What happens when you get a taste of freedom only to have it rips from you?

You run.

But when your world is in the middle of a war, you will quickly find out just how strong you are.

And if you're lucky to survive all the trials and tribulations, you find the happiness you longed for.

Anika never expected to be thrust into another household but that's exactly what she's just learned. That isn't what she wants, so she takes off without a plan.

Urazi is beside himself when he learns Anika took off in the middle of night. Despite the fact that he's been told not to, he takes off after her.

It takes some time, but Urazi finally finds Anika however due to the war they are far from safe.

They are in for the fight of their life and those they love, and through it all their connection deepens.

But when all is said and done, while they fight for their love or let others dictate their future?

Warrior is the stunning conclusion to the Breeder series. It's full of intrigue, excitement, adventure, and passion.

I love how strong and independent Anika is, she isn't afraid to stand up for herself. She's feisty, witty, and courageous.

Urazi surprised me in a good way. They way he went against everything to protect and love Anika is endearing. I love how he does whatever it takes no matter the costs. This couple is just what you want to swoon off.

I have loved this series and Warrior is my favorite because of the tough as nails heroine and valiant hero. The passion between Anika and Urazi is magnetic and the story is intense. I would highly recommend this exhilarating book.

Excerpt

Leaving had carved a hole so deep and wide it could never be filled. She averted her gaze. “I said I was sorry.”

“On my PerComm. Yeah, I got the message.”

“It was the only way.”

“No, it wasn’t the only way.” He glared. Terran eyes were so expressive, revealing every emotion. “Another option would have been to tell me the truth, face-to-face, to wake me the fuck up and say, “Gotta run. See, ya!”

Not an option. Because if she had, she never would have been able to leave at all.

“I made some mistakes,” she said. Going to Terra counted as the first one. Then she’d gotten involved with March. As powerful as falling in love had been, it hadn’t bestowed her with the courage to face her father and her family, the council, the seer, her people, her consort-to-be, and confess she didn’t want to come back or become empress. She desired to marry a Terran and have half-alien babies, if that was even possible. She’d had the weight of an entire world, a millennium of history on her shoulders, and she’d caved to duty, leaving while she could still do so.

“Yeah,” he said. “Me, too.” Meaning her. She was his mistake. She had earned his anger, but his bitterness dripped like acid on an already-wounded heart.

Tears welled in her eyes and trickled over her lower lids. They would leave black streaks down her cheeks, across the carefully designed whorls decorating her face. Incongruously, she wondered how long it would take for the design to fade without the act of sexual congress to activate her hormones. How long would be she marked as the almost bride?

“I deserved that,” she said, steeling her courage because she owed him an explanation. She twisted her hands. “I had to go. My father seems benign and doting, but he would have invaded Terra, stormed the university, and dragged me home.”

A small smile quirked at the corner of March’s mouth. “Having met your father and experienced his ‘hospitality,’ I believe you. The emperor is not a man to cross. Why didn’t you tell me who you were at the beginning?”

“Because, for once in my life, I wanted to be anonymous.”

“No one would have treated you any differently. They would have been surprised, at first, but after the curiosity wore off, you could have been that—just another college kid.”

“I would have known, and it would have changed everything.” She would have lost those precious, rare times when for a few moments, she did forget her station and duty. Oh, how she had loved cramming for exams, arguing and grousing in study groups, eating bad food, staying out too late with other students, the hustle and bustle of campus life, her one and only spring break spent at a beach town where she’d become inebriated. Shitfaced, the Terrans called it, which sounded worse than it was, because she’d loved the experience. It was so very…Terran.

Hey, Jules, you want to grab a cup of coffee? Hey, Jules, can you share your notes? Hey, Jules, there’s a party Saturday night. Hey, Jules, hey, Jules, hey. Jules. Oh, the sweet, sweet sound of it.
And then came March, who sought out her company not because he’d been chosen by the seer, but just because. And that was the sweetest of all.

Until the heartbreak. Her affair with anonymity had exacted a steep price.

“Would you have gotten involved with me if you had known my identity?” she asked.

Review

When you are born with the weight of the world on your shoulders, the pressure can cause anyone to buckle. So when Jules got the opportunity to study abroad, she couldn't have been happier. To learn a new culture, make new friends, and be someone she isn't is everything she ever wanted. Just when she least expected it, lighting stuck and she meets a man that captivates her in way no other man ever has. They begin a sultry affair and feeling start to grow, but after awhile Jules runs away in the middle of the night unexpectedly.

Years have past, but March has never forgotten the girl that got away. When a chance to visit the world that his Jules is from, he jumps at the chance to try to find her just one more time. What he didn't expect was to come face to face with her in the most surprising of ways.

He should walk away and never look back, but his draw to her undeniable. And when they find themselves alone, their magnetism is unequivocal. However, just as they are getting reacquainted a problem occurs that put them in a position where their life could be in danger.

Will they be able to find out the people involved and make things right? And if they do find out the who and why, will they be able to stay together or be forced to part again?

Claimed by the Cyborg is a stunning, thrilling, emotional journey that will pull at your heartstrings and keep you on the edge of your seat. I really enjoyed the fact that this couple have a history and it's that history that makes them who they are today. Even after everything that March has been through, he's still the man Jules knew all those years ago.

I loved that even though Jules may not have wanted to rule her world, she always knew her heart and even years later, her heart was still true. She always put her family and her people above her wants and desire, that says a lot about who she is. March is the same way, just when he wants to walk away because he's been hurt but Jules' actions, he still comes back to her.

I really enjoyed this latest edition to the Cy-Ops series. It's a fast paced page turner that will take you on a journey to another world filled with passion, heart, and a dramatic story line. I can't wait to see where the next book in this series will take us next.

Cara Britol Presents Sex and Innocence: An Irresistible, Erotic Combination #BodyTalk

Sex and Innocence: An Irresistible, Erotic Combination #BodyTalk
By Cara Bristol

Back in the day, almost all romance novels featured innocent heroines. Good girls most certainly “didn’t” and novels never featured “bad” girls. The heroine remained a virgin until she married.
Now romances are not only erotic, but kinky.

Which makes innocence all the more appealing. A heroine doesn’t necessarily have to be a virgin to be innocent. Innocence is more a state of mind, a way of looking at the world with wonder and optimism. Nor does it mean naïve. One can still be smart and perceptive while still being innocent.

When innocence is brought to a sexual encounter in a romance novel it stirs a newness and freshness to an act that in real life can become perfunctory or run of the mill. There’s surprise and awe, and discovery. How the hero deals with that innocence reveals much about the kind of man he is.

Innocent heroes are more rare, but they do exist. I see it most often in science fiction romance where the alien/cyborg is mated for the first time (of course, he somehow still manages to be a skilled lover even though he’s a virgin).

Body Talk contains a couple of story excerpts in which the heroine begins the story as an innocent. Educating his Bride is set in the 1950s. Margaret is a virgin when she marries her older, sexually experienced, kinky English professor. The patience and concern Henry shows her on the wedding night demonstrates how much he loves her, and her pleasure and joy in her first sexual experience shows her eagerness to learn what Henry wants to teach her.

Another story, the Goddess’s Curse, was inspired by the myth of the Amazons. According to Greek mythology, these women warriors lived apart from men until it came time to reproduce. Goddess’s Curse heroine Reena has never seen a man, but has heard from her cousin how base and brutal they are. Then she meets a man and discovers that not everything she was told is true. Her hero, Garat, is also innocent in his own way. After a bad experience with an evil woman, he has avoided women—but when he meets Reena, he’s irresistibly drawn to her.

An excerpt from Body Talk (Educating His Bride)

It’s the 1950s, and college co-ed Margaret drops out of school to marry her English professor, Henry.  This scene is taken from their wedding night.

“Go shower while I can still let you,” he said gruffly.

Margaret nodded and sneaked a peek at the towel. Her eyes widened at how it tented.

Henry growled. “Go.”

She grabbed her toiletry case and dashed for the bath.

 “Don’t you want your nightgown?”

“Yes. Thank you.” She snatched the set from the foot of the bed. After locking the door, Margaret plopped her case onto the sink and pressed her hands to her warm cheeks. Wasn’t marriage supposed to settle you? She felt dizzy, topsy-turvy, like she’d ridden one of those crazy spinning carnival rides.

She hung her nightgown and robe on a hook then reached behind to undo her dress. By twisting her arms and arching her back, she was able to work the zipper down—until it snagged on the fabric and refused to budge another inch.

Margaret cracked the bathroom door open. About to pull back the covers, Henry turned.

“I, um, need help,” she said. “My dress got caught.”

“Let me see.”

She crept outside and presented her back.

He tugged gently on the fabric and the metal tab, and then she heard the zipper slide. The dress sagged and she clutched it to her chest. Silly to feel so shy. She wore a slip, and soon he’d see her naked anyway.

“You’re set.” He brushed his lips against her nape.

Her senses went haywire. “Thank you,” she gulped and scrambled for the bathroom again.

While the tub filled, she stepped out of her dress and hung it on another hook; later, she would transfer it to the closet. Male clothing lay folded on a small table. With no other wall hooks remaining, she draped her petticoats over the neat stack, along with her full-length slip. She unsnapped her stockings from the garters and rolled them off, taking care not to run them, then wiggled out of her girdle. The rubbery foundation garment had left her skin sweaty and marked. She hoped the red streaks would disappear by the time she finished her bath. After removing her bra and panties, she gathered up her unmentionables and hid them in the folds of her petticoats then snapped on a shower cap to keep her hair dry.

Tonight’s the night I become a wife.

Despite her mother’s warnings, Margaret felt almost giddy as she stepped into the tub.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Spoiling the Big Surprise by Cara Bristol

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Spoiling the Big Surprise
By Cara Bristol

My college boyfriend and I had only been dating for about a month when Valentine’s Day was coming up. He hinted he had a big surprise for me.

“Are you going to be home Tuesday around five o’clock?” he asked.

“Yeah, why?”

“Because that’s the time the delivery truck is coming.”

“Delivery truck?”

We’d only been going out for a month! I couldn’t imagine what he could have bought that would require a delivery truck, except that it must be too big and too expensive—and inappropriate for relationship only a month old. Rather than being pleased, I was upset, angry. We ended up getting into a fight over his mystery gift.

Valentine’s Day (Tuesday) rolled around and at 5 p.m., there was a knock on my apartment door. With trepidation, I opened the door, and there on the ground was a tiny toy truck. In the back of it was small wrapped box, which turned out to be a bottle of my favorite perfume. An entirely appropriate gift.

I’d blown it. He’d tried to surprise me, but I’d gotten mad and created drama and spoiled a romantic and appropriate gesture.

Janelle, the heroine of Wife on the Lam in Domestic Discipline spoils a gift from her husband. It’s their wedding anniversary, and Janelle hints to Brent that she’d like to take an island vacation. He wants to surprise her so secretly he books the island vacation she wants, but tells her he has to work on their anniversary. Thinking he’s blown off their special day, she gets mad and runs away on vacation by herself. Brent follows her to the resort. The sparks and spanking begin!

Have you spoiled someone’s big surprise? Did you try to surprise someone else but have it ruined?
Excerpt
Wife on the Lam, Domestic Discipline

The only person to board so far, she sank into a seat midway down the aisle curbside, grateful for the air conditioning. After only a short jaunt from the building to the van, perspiration dampened her skin. She plucked at her cotton capris stuck to her legs. She wouldn’t need the slacks she’d packed. Just shorts, tanks — and the swimsuit. If she had the guts to wear it.

She’d bought the suit to surprise Brent before she hatched her impromptu plan. He’d always liked her ass. She sighed and lifted her hair from her nape. Should she contact him? Start damage control?

Could she call the States from Isla Island? Because Brent traveled so much they had a comprehensive cell plan. She powered up her phone. Seconds later a text message beeped through. Her hand shook as she recognized Brent’s number.

Can’t believe U did this. Where R U?

She texted him back. Cabana Resort, Isla Island. I’m sorry.

She widened her eyes when seconds later a response popped up. He must have been waiting for her message. She could imagine his fury. Fortunately she was hundreds of miles away. Of course, if she hadn’t been hundreds of miles away, he wouldn’t be mad. With any hope, he’d cool off some by the end of the week. Or would he be angrier by then?

U R in so much trouble. B there Thurs.

Did that mean what it sounded like? She gulped. U R coming here?

Yes. We’ll talk.

Talk was often a euphemism, but of course she wanted him to join her. Her heartfelt wish had been for her and Brent to take the trip together. And she was ninety-nine percent sure he wouldn’t spank her at a resort.

Little does she know….

Domestic Discipline Blurb

Wife on the Lam

Janelle wants to take a luxury vacation for her wedding anniversary. Despite numerous hints, husband Brent misses all the clues and plans a business trip! Miffed, she flies off alone to a luxury resort. She’s going to celebrate—with or without him.

Brent didn’t have to work. He’d planned a second honeymoon to the luxury Cabana Resort. Janelle might have ruined his surprise, but he’s not going to let her ruin their anniversary, too. He has a little trick up his sleeve to take his errant wife in hand and get their marriage back on track.

Rahm’s Way

Before her military husband left for his tour of duty, Cadence Simmons relied on Rahm’s love, direction, and protection. His absence forced her to become more independent and make decisions for herself. After serving his country, he’s home for good and eager to resume their marriage as it was before. Only Cadence isn’t quite sure she wants things exactly as they were. Can domestic discipline guide this couple through some major changes?

The only thing more dangerous than a suicide mission is falling in love…

Amanda Mansfield has faced challenges in her life: the disapproval of her critical father and the near-fatal accident that ended a promising military career and resulted in her transformation to cyborg. Now a Cyber Operations field agent, she volunteers to lead the most dangerous Cy-Ops mission ever: infiltrating enemy territory to find the secret hideaway of a terrorist mastermind. The last thing she needs is an added complication.

Like him. Sonny Masters. Her partner. A streetwise former thug turned cyber operative with a lethal grin who doesn’t understand she’s charge and does not require his protection. He’s everything she dislikes—and everything her body wants.

If they can keep their hands off each other long enough to complete the mission, they might just get out alive…

Trapped with the Cyborg (Cy-Ops Sci-fi Romance 4) is a standalone read.

Review

Sonny Master is the type of cyborg you could call the strong silent type. He's list of those he calls friends is smaller than the length of his arm. So as a private man, those missions that one would consider a suicide mission are the ones that he's first to volunteer for.

Amanda Mansfield is a woman on a mission, prove that a female cyborg is just as strong and capable as a male cyborg. Having never made her father proud of her accomplishments, she pushes herself to into one dangerous situation after another. When she sets her mind to something, there is no stopping her. And this next mission just may the most impossible on yet.

Amanda may be in the lead agent on this mission, but Sonny's protectiveness will reach new heights as feelings he never expected to have grow with every second he spends with the hard headed, strong willed, beauty that is Amanda. If only they can get out of this mess alive.

This book is something special, in more ways than one. Unlike the previous books, this couple got together before they knew they would be working together. They acted on their mutual attraction, which was carried into their mission. Their passion drives them on the mission and into each other's arms. Their desire to have a future outside of their job sustains their arduous trek behind enemy lines.

I loved that each are strong, independent, and like things their own way. They stand for what they believe in, even if the other is exasperated by it. But it's the intensity of their love that will keep you captivated until the end. Theirs is a love that knows no bounds.

Excerpt

He signaled the android and motioned to their empty glasses. “Bill these to my room.”

“I’m more than capable of paying for my own drink.” She huffed.

He confirmed with the android. “My tab.” He motioned for Amanda to lead the way out of the lounge. “We’ll work out the details later. We can arm wrestle for it.”

“Don’t think I couldn’t win.”

“If let you.”

“There’s a word for men like you.”

“Gentlemanly?”

“Chauvinist.”

“Why are you coming with me, then?”

“I didn’t say you don’t exude a certain raw, he-man charm.”

Amusement rumbled up from his belly in an explosion of genuine enjoyment. Son of a bitch, he wished he had more time. A rare pang of regret shot through him. Cy-Ops had been good to him, and he didn’t regret this career path, considering what his alternatives might have been. The lives of those he’d helped—were better for it. But, yeah, sometimes he wished he had a woman waiting for him. He had a hunch from this point forward, when he pictured that imaginary woman, she would have Amanda’s face.

“Thank you,” he said, and rubbed the scar cutting a bare swath through facial stubble.

“What happened?” she asked.

“The scar?”

“Yes.”

“I didn’t grow up in the best part of town. A gang of thugs who thought they were hot shit roamed the neighborhood, spoiling for a fight. They rarely had trouble starting one.”

“You were attacked?”

He shook his head. “I was one of them.” He traced the thickened, puckered skin. “I deserved this.” He’d omitted he’d started the fight in defense of his sister. It mattered little his motives had been inculpable that time. One good deed did not undo a multitude of bad ones. With his disreputable background, he hadn’t sought medical attention. His facial wound hadn’t healed properly, and he’d been left with a significant scar. Still, he’d survived life on the streets and emerged less scathed than some. Than his sister.

He fingered the souvenir of a misspent adolescence. “I’d like to say this ended my association, but I can’t. I was a slow learner, I guess.” Not to mention a thug. A gang member. A criminal.

“So, what got you out of it?” She halted and peered up at him. The top of her head would graze his chin if he were to hold her. Which he wanted to do. Horizontally, while she clenched around him. “I assume you’re out of it?”

“Yes. You’re not in any danger with me.”

“You don’t worry me.”

“Because you think you can kick my ass like you did the Malodonian?”

Release Blitz & Review ~ Educating His Bride by Cara Bristol

When she runs afoul of her professor husband, newlywed Margaret learns naughty college coeds get spanked.

It’s the 1950s. Never much interested in her studies, Margaret Atwater attends college hoping to graduate with an Mrs. degree instead of a bachelor’s. When she catches the eye of English Professor Henry Thurston, she’s thrilled to marry him, drop out of school, and begin a new life as a married woman and faculty wife. However, Henry is a kinky man who has much to teach his eager young bride—in, and out, of the bedroom. As Mrs. Henry Thurston, Margaret’s sexual education has just begun.

Educating His Bride was previously published in the short-lived anthology Correcting the Coeds. It is being released as a single title now.

Warning: this book contains explicit sexual content, spanking, exhibitionism, and the use of sex toys. And a funny, hot, historically accurate story.

“You forgot your lunch.” She glanced around. The office appeared the same as it had the day she’d gotten spanked with the ruler.

“I have a class to teach, so I’ll leave you two newlyweds alone.” Professor Abernathy winked.

“Good-bye,” she said, glad to see him go.

His footsteps receded down the hall, and Henry planted a long, hard kiss on Margaret’s mouth. By the time he released her, she gasped for air.

“What did you bring me for lunch?” He peered into the corridor and slammed the door.

“A meatloaf sandwich.”

He twisted the key in the lock and scooted around her to the window. “On white bread?”

“Yes.”

“Good. I like white bread. It’s so nice and fluffy. Almost like eating cotton candy.” He turned the wand and plunged the room into dusk. Enough light remained to see the sexual gleam in his eyes.

An answering heat pooled in her core. Yes, some things had changed since her last visit to this room. She might have gotten a C in his class, but she’d aced marital relations. He’d taught her much over the summer, lessons she’d embraced with alacrity.

Henry plopped into his chair and beckoned.

“What if somebody comes?”

“They won’t. It’s only the second week. Students don’t have reason to meet with me yet.” He chuckled. “They’re still searching for their classes.”

“I don’t know.” Did respectable married women do things like this?

He leaned back and spread his legs. His erection tented his trousers. “Do I need to come and get you, Mrs. Thurston?”

She loved being called that. Liquid lust pooled, but she played coy. “Maybe—”

Henry sprang up, dragged her to his desk, and upended her over his lap. The chair arms prevented him from pulling her completely atop his knees, but he was strong enough to hold her half on, half off. She braced her hands on the floor. Skirts flew over her head. A playful swat landed on her bottom.

Thwack. Thwack. “Henreee…” she giggled. “Ow!” she cried as he brought his hand down harder. There’d been many spankings over the summer. Only one had been for punishment after she’d gone shopping and had run late and hadn’t called. The rest had been sexy ones. There was something thrilling about her husband enforcing his will—and her surrendering to it.

“I wish you didn’t put on so many undergarments,” he groused as he spanked.

“I only wear the usual.” Panties, girdle, slip. Petticoats for poufiness, if the dress needed it.

“Maybe I’ll institute an underwear ban.”

“I couldn’t!”

“I mean around the house.”

That wasn’t as bad, but still. What if she had to answer the door? A respectable woman was always coiffed, starched, and properly clad. To not wear undergarments would be like not wearing…stockings!

“Well, I’ll have to think about it,” he said.

She hoped he thought about it a long time. He flipped her off his lap into a heap between his legs, undid his trousers, and freed his cock from his shorts. Precum pearled on the smooth head.

Her brown feathered tilt hat had slipped from her head to her ear, despite being anchored with a pin. Henry threaded his fingers through her pageboy. The man was heck on a hairdo. Perhaps she should get one of those short, shaggy cuts like Italian actress Gina Lollobrigida had.

He exerted pressure to bring her face closer to his cock. “I used to think about you doing this when you were my student,” he said. “Suck me, Meggie.”

On the last day of their honeymoon, when her lady parts had become tender after so much unaccustomed activity, he’d offered her an alternative to please him: take his penis in her mouth. To say she’d been shocked was an understatement.

After much coaxing, he’d convinced her to kiss his cockhead. The smoothness of his glans had amazed her. After her tentative lick and hesitant suck, he’d emitted such a husky groan she’d been emboldened enough to shake off inhibitions.

Although she could never bring herself to utter the word “blow job,” not even in the privacy of their bedroom, performing it caused her woman parts to tingle. She relished the hunger in his eyes, his rumbles and growls. He could communicate his need quite forcefully, twisting her hair around his fist and thrusting so deep and fast into her mouth, he sometimes brought tears to her eyes, but his deep groans, his contorted expression made it worth it. She inspired desperation in him.

Margaret stroked his shaft and engulfed the head.

“Yessss, Meggie, yes,” he hissed.

With her tongue, she traced the ridge. Sucking lightly at first, she increased the pull as she slid his cock in and out. He guided the pace, keeping a grip in her hair, rocking his hips. As his speed and force increased, signaling he approached orgasm, she hummed.

She’d discovered by accident Henry liked it when she hummed while she sucked on his cock. To merely hum seemed silly, so she found a song to fit the occasion, “Hold Me, Kiss Me, Thrill Me,” a hit record by Karen Chandler.

“Oh God.” His thighs tensed, and he thrust into her mouth so hard she saw stars, but she maintained contact and hummed louder.

The shaft of his penis pulsed, and he pumped his seed down her throat.

When the throbbing in his member subsided, his grip in her hair turned caressing, and she released his cock. Streaks of scarlet sunset—her preferred lipstick color—had transferred from her lips to his manhood. She wiped her mouth with the back of her hand. Thank goodness she was a married woman, or people would mistake her for a tramp—hair and hat askew, lipstick smudged right off, her dress wrinkled to high heaven.

A footfall sounded outside the door. Metal scraped on metal, and her blood froze in her veins at the realization a key was being inserted into the lock.

“Fuck!” Henry swore. “Hide!”
Review

Margaret Atwater's college education goals was a Mrs Degree, what she didn't expect was to meet and fall in love with Professor Thurston. She may not have been interested in a bachelor's degree, but she's more than excited to learning her role as wife.

When Henry started seeing Margaret, he couldn't wait for the semester is over to marry her and start her lessons of how to be his wife. And those lessons are seductive, appealing, and oh so stimulating.

This book is a quick sensuous read about two people starting a life together based on a foundation love, hope, commitment, and a whole lot of titillating encounters. Margaret may stumble from time to time, but Henry will always stand by his wife and help her every step of way.

I really enjoyed this story and recommend it to anyone who is looking for a little something to help wind down after a long day.

An interview with Illumina Smith of Captured by the Cyborg
by Cara Bristol

Cara Bristol: I hear you accepted a new job. A computer troubleshooting position with the Moonbeam spacecraft remanufacturing factory. Congratulations.

Illumina Smith: Thank you. It surprised me when I received an offer. I got the impression Dale Homme, the boss, didn’t think I was right for position.

Cara: Why would you think that?

Illumina: The way he kept squinting at me like he suspected everything I told him was a lie. But I can’t blame him. Everything I told him was a lie.

Cara: You falsified your credentials?

Illumina: Everything on my CV was false except for my age. Even my name is an alias.

Cara: Why would you do that?

Illumina: I needed a safe place to hide. Moonbeam is located a kilometer underground on the moon Deceptio.

Cara: So you’re not qualified to work on spacecraft?

Illumina: I didn’t say that. My qualifications are that I don’t need qualifications. I’m a computer sensate. A computer system doesn’t exist that I can’t hack.

Cara: But what if Dale Homme finds out you falsified your resume?

Illumina: He won’t. I plan to avoid him as much as possible, anyway. When I shook his hand at the interview, I discovered he’s a cyborg, a scientifically enhanced human. He has a microprocessor in his brain. Cyborgs and computer sensates do not mix. For his safety, I need to keep my distance.
Excerpt

(This an excerpt of Illumina’s job interview from the Dale Homme’s POV)

“Do you understand how isolated you’ll be if I hire you for this position? You won’t be able to leave the facility until your furlough. You’ll work here—and live in the employee barracks. For months at a time, you won’t see sunlight, hear a bird chirp or an insect sing, or feel the wind on your face. You’ll be stuck with the same people day in and day out—and, by the way, there will be no natural rotation to mark the time. Day and night are controlled by artificial lighting and work schedules. The only visitors to Deceptio are pre-approved buyers or sellers. For security reasons, you won’t be permitted contact with any outsiders, including your family.”

Her lips twitched with a slight smile. “You make it sound so appealing.”

“Many people can’t handle the isolation. We lose a lot of good employees to moon fever.” He opened up a hailing frequency in his cyberbrain and fired off a couple of messages.

“That won’t happen with me, Mr. Homme.”

“They all say that,” he said.

She leaned forward. “I mean it.”

Why would a young woman leave a prestigious, lucrative job to live in an artificial environment beneath the surface of a barren moon? Moonbeam paid as much if not more than Infinity, and offered generous leave, but that was the extent of the perks. For a programmer starting out in her career, Infinity was the better choice. Which led him to believe she was running from something, rather than to something. “Tell me about your educational background.”

She eased back, but her spine didn’t touch the frame of the chair. “I graduated with honors from TCI.”

“I got that from your CV. What was your favorite class?”

“I was on the computer security track, but I also mastered all the computer languages.” A response, but not the answer to his question.

Ping! Ping! Both his messages came back with replies. He read them while continuing the interview. Multitasking was a cinch for a cyborg. “You must have taken Professor Annabel Harriot’s class. She’s a friend of mine.”

Illumina nodded, her face flashing that luminescence that caused her to glow like a pearl. “I learned so much from her. She’s….tough, but respected.”

“So you think you can handle this job?”

“I’m confident I can.”

“And the isolation?”

“Won’t be a problem.”

“If I were to offer you the position, when could you start?”

“Immediately. I, um, brought my suitcase. I don’t even need to return home.”

Interplanetary hiring laws dictated what an employer could or couldn’t ask a prospective job seeker. Dale knew the rules, but he hadn’t gotten where he was by following them. Cyberoperatives worked outside the law, as did spacecraft chop shop owners, so he had no qualms about asking whatever he needed to gather the necessary info to facilitate his decision. “What species are you exactly?”

“Ter—” She dropped her gaze to her lap, where her hands locked together. She raised her eyes and bit her lip. “Faria,” she admitted in a low voice.

It was one of the few truths she’d uttered during the entire interview.

Annabel Harriot did not exist; he had made her up. The professor was as fictitious as the qualifications on Illumina’s CV. His contacts at TCI and Infinity had reported they’d never heard of Illumina Smith. To their recollection, she’d never attended the institute or been employed by the AI corporation.
Review

Dale Homme made a life skirting the law with Cyber Operations, but now that he is retired, he runs a chop shop on the moon Deceptio. He still skirts the law but life is a lot less dangerous and a bit more mundane. Sure life still has it's treacherous encounters, however something is missing and he can't pinpoint what it is exactly.

Illumina Smith is running from her past and her running had led her to Deceptio. She hopes to hide out for awhile until it is time to move on. Life on the run isn't what she dreamed of, but circumstances have led her down this path.

Dale can tell by looking at Illumina that she's lying, but there is something about her that he can't let go of. Maybe by keeping her around, he'll be able to find out what she is hiding and possibly help her.

But his body's reaction is beginning to cloud his judgement when it comes to her. He's never been like this with anyone, what it is about her that calls to him? However, he's not the only one having issues, Dale has awaken something in Illumina and she can't seem to shut it down.

As time goes on and the more time they spend together, Illumina starts to trust Dale and confide in him her problems. Dale vows to protect her at all costs, but he's going to be away for a few days so he call in reinforcements. With all the security measures in place, what could go wrong?

Everything since the person they least expected to deceive them just put them all in jeopardy. So can Dale make is back in time to save Illumina before it's too late?

Jesus, Buddha, Lao-Tzu! Cara has another thrilling hit on her hands! Dale Homme is the hero worth swooning over and over again. He's tall, dark, handsome, protective, and oh so sexy. And when he's committed, he's all in heart and soul. Making sure his lady love is happy and protected is paramount to him. He'll melt your heart right along with your panties.

Illumina is stronger than she gives herself credit, it takes fortitude to run and fight for her life. And when she sees an issue with security, I love her sense to protect those around her even without their knowledge. And when she's taken hostage, I love her resilience to fight for herself even if it means never seeing the one man she loves again.

This book is exhilarating and holds you captive until the end. The chemistry between Dale and Illumina is intoxicating on so many levels, you can't help but be drawn to them and want them to achieve their happily ever after. This quick read will leave you craving more for this sultry couple.
