He held his hand out to me. When I didn’t immediately take it, he wiggled his fingers. I relented and put my hand in his as I followed him onto the trail.

“Why are your hands calloused?” I asked.

“I use them a lot,” he explained. “I do projects at the apartment complex, help out some buddies working to renovate other buildings, stuff like that.”

“Figures.”

“Some women find a man that works with his hands to be sexy,” he said, rubbing his thumb along the inside of my wrist.

“And some women find a man in a suit sexy,” I retorted.

“Hmm. I bet I can guess which one you are, Candie.”

“Why do you call me Candie?”

“I like it. It suits you. And I like that I’m the only one who calls you that.”

“You’re not.”

He stopped on the path and cocked his head at me. “I’m not?”

“No. My dad calls me that. When you first did it, I thought maybe you knew him.”

“Hmm. Maybe I should stop then.”

For reasons I would probably never comprehend, I didn’t want him to. “Why?”

Suddenly, Jack pulled me into his arms and moved us both off the trail until my back was up against a giant tree. My head spun as I looked up at him, my breath shallow, my eyes wide.

“I don’t want you to think about your dad when you’re with me,” he said, lowering his head.

I put my hands on either side of his face. He was freshly shaven today, and his skin was deliciously smooth. “I don’t,” I told him.

Review

While Candace Gleason was growing up she felt like there was more to life that what her parents were teaching her. So she made a plan for her career path and also for her personal life. But everything she thought she wanted is about to be turned upside down when she meets a man unlike any she's ever met before.

Jack Morrison was expected to lead his life a certain way but an unexpected event changes his course. He's been working hard for his non-profit that keeps him from an serious relationship, but he's about to meet his match when his family sends him a new "babysitter".

Their first meeting was electric and send sparks flying neither expected.

They try to fight their growing feelings but their connection can't be denied for long.

But when all is said and done, will they be able to find a way to make their relationship when their career paths pulls them in different directions and also pitting them against each other?

Don't Let Him Go is a captivating, sassy, passionate read that takes the reader on a journey that will sweep them off their feet.

Candace is a feisty, strong, independent that isn't afraid to stand up for what she believes in. Her morals and ethics are endearing and makes her relatable to readers. I love how passionate she tries to always do what's right, even if it goes against those she cares about. Her unwavering love for family despite sometimes feeling like she is nothing like them is heartwarming. She's a well rounded, caring person you can't help fall in love with.

Jack is not just your typical activist, he's also smart, talented, kind, and handsome. When he believes in something, he believes with his whole heart and soul. His love for his family even if they don't believe in his believes is delectable. I really admire his spirit and passion in giving back.

I really enjoyed how Jack and Candace got to know each other both in the bedroom and out. Their connection is intense right from the start and only magnifies as the story progresses. And when it comes to the bedroom... wow!

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed Don't Let Him Go from start to finish. The storyline was enthralling, the hero enticing, the heroine enchanting, and the romance exciting.

If you are looking for something fun, light, saucy, and light on the angst, then I highly recommend you pick Don't Let Him Go. If you do, you'll definitely not want to let this Morrison get away.
