They told me I’d be an escort; they made it sound so easy.
Really I’m just a high priced call girl.
Desperation brought me to this and it led me to him, my one and only client.
Hating him is easy, he reminds me of my shame.
Wanting him is wrong it fills me with guilt.
Loving him is a losing battle yet it’s become everything.
A gift and a curse, he consumes my every thought and I’d rather play my part in his bed than to spend one day without him.

Jackson Stone is an asshole with a capital A. He knows it, owns it and tells people upfront. The usual type of women he meets are not his cup of tea anymore; they want more than he is willing to give. They all think, "I'll be the one to change him, I'll be the one to stay." That is just want Jackson doesn't want or need. He's business and that's all he has time for, that's all he wants.
Sage Turner is just trying to make ends meet, but failing. After her breakup with her ex, things just went from bad to worse. She's trying to pull out from under all this, but there doesn't seem to be way out until she sees an ad too good to be try. She makes the call, but after finding out the real nature of the job, she walks away. She's desperate, but not that desperate. Life has a way of changing things, she's out of job, low on cash and moments away from eviction.
That's why she's here, standing outside his hotel room. Nervous doesn't even being to define what she's feeling, but a girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do. Jackson can tell that this is her first time, but there's something about her that makes him want to see more of her and once he's had a taste, he can't let her go.
These two have a relationship, a very unconventional relationship. Sage is falling for Jackson, but due to her line of business, she is trying hard to keep her heart from being hurt. Jackson, for is part, is an asshole that keep her at arm's length but he's finding it harder and harder to keep up act. They are falling for each other, but is that something they can really do?
Wow, the roller coaster of this book is thrilling. I found that once I started the book, I couldn't put it down until the end. It left me panting for more of these two. Their electricity leaps of the page. You feel for Sage and the struggles she been through. Jackson can aggravate you one second and make you love him the next. Through it all, you can't help but root for these two, even when one screws up. I loved this book and I look forward to reading it again and again.
