Excerpt

“Maybe, one can hope it is just a motivational tool, but I doubt it. Soon, all eligible female shifters in Europe will descend on Moscow. If I am not mated with one within a lunar cycle, then father might be the last ruler of our line. That’s the future, the future I came here to forget. Until then, well the DC clubs better watch out.” Mikhail smirked.

Kevin entered the room with a hesitant smile. “Didn’t mean to eavesdrop, mates, but I was just walking by. I don’t mean to be presumptuous, either, but if you want, Mikhail, Rachel and I can take you to a club we like to go to. I have a feeling it might be right up your alley. It's members only and a bit kinky. What do you say? It could be a lot of fun.”

“Are you kidding me? Kink is my middle name. When do we go?” Mikhail smiled.

“As soon as we change. Put on something nice and sexy.” Kevin winked at him before turning to leave. Mikhail wondered if the man was flirting with him.

As he stared at the spot where Kevin had just disappeared, Anna came back into the room. “What is Kev smiling about? And why do you have a matching smirk, Mikhail? Are you two up to something?”

“He and Rachel just invited Mikhail out to go with them to their private club,” Alexander answered with a knowing stare.

A look of understanding dawned in her eyes. “Ah. So you are just as wild as my friends? Well, try to not get in too much trouble. Lord knows that Kevin and Rachel are going to do their best to lure you into some.” She winked at him, then turned to Alexander. “I guess us boring people should go to bed. No one else in this house will be getting up to help with the baby tomorrow morning.”

“Too right.” Alexander laughed.

“Just what kind of club is this?” Mikhail said to himself as he went to change, anticipation running through his veins.

An Interview With The Author

Welcome Sheri!! Thanks for being here with me today!!

Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?

I am what is known as a pantster for sure, I hardly ever work from an outline. I prefer to focus on character, I develop a good character and then follow them through the story to see where they take me. It makes it more fun for me!

What was your hardest scene to write?

The hardest scene to write in Mikhail’s American Adventure was the ménage scene. Sex scenes may be the most fun to read sometimes, but they can be hard to write! The more people in a love scene, the more attention to detail I have to pay when writing, you have to keep track of all the hands and such! lol

Which writers inspire you?

He may not be a romance author, but Stephen King is one of the most inspirational writers to me. His work ethic keeps me writing even when life is getting me down. He also penned one of the best writing books I have ever read. Other than Mr. King, I would say as a youngster I was heavily influenced by Anne Rice, J.R.R. Tolkien and so many others. Today I am inspired by so many fellow indie authors out there that I could never name them all, though I am lucky enough to be in the Summer of Seduction anthology with many of them!

If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?

That’s easy, the Harry Potter series! First, hello they are great books! I would have the freedom to write fulltime and to write what I want when I want. And I would not kill off Fred!

What advice would you give to aspiring writers?

Read as much as you can. Write every day, get into a routine and keep writing. Have faith in yourself. Work with the best people and publishers that you can. Develop a thick skin and never ever pay attention to trolls on the internet.

What do you like to do when you're not writing?

I love to read of course. I also love going to the movies. I make jewelry and paint for fun as well. My husband and I are also huge nerds and proud of it, so we play a lot of board games and are known to have a game of Dungeons and Dragons going quite often. I also love just a good night of lying in bed watching tv with my husband and our two dogs. I’m a simple creature to please.

Thanks again Sheri, it was a pleasure getting to know you.
